End date of his Patriarchal role? edit
Wikipedia says 1570. The Dictionary of Christian Biography (ISBN 082647960X) lists it as 1567. I can do some more research and see if I can find a WP:RS to confirm. —Tom Morris (talk) 01:55, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
- This kind of dates are not well known and different scholars have different suggestions: this because most of informations cames from ancient letters kept in the Vatican which are anyway second-hand sources. Thus Wiki says "Among the different possible dates of Abdisho's death, Murre suggests the 11 September 1570", and reference to Murre Article is given. Wiki correctly gives precedence to a specialistic recent article of a modern scholar which have searched first-hand informations, in this case checking the data engraved in the Patriarchal tombs. For sure specialistic modern scholarity literature is more reliable than a general Dictionary of Christian Biography. A ntv (talk) 08:20, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
