Talk:Aab-e-Gum railway station

Transliteration

edit

I am a native English speaker, and have only had minimal exposure to Arabic-language education (and it was Egyptian Arabic, at that), but if I'm reading the Arabic orthography right, I'm thinking the transliteration of آب گم would be closer to "aab-e-kum." No? If it is, maybe we should rename this page. Is anyone a native Pakistani-speaker out there? Carolfrog 00:58, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Khalid Mahmood left this explanation on my talk page (in response to a question of mine): "Aab-e-Gum is not an arabic word. Its first portion is persian and second is urdu." So. That explains it.  :) Carolfrog 17:43, 25 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphan Status

edit

I'm wondering if this page is notable enough to try to include a link to it from the Balochistan (Pakistan) page or the Quetta page. Also, if it is notable, we should probably expand it. Is it a famous railway station? Did anything particularly important happen there? Carolfrog 00:58, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
