Why has this article been deleted? edit

Just wondering why this article was deleted. I know the edit summary in the deletion log shows that there had been some vandaism on this page, but I think an actual article may have existed here once. If you type 'A Man's A Man for A' That' into Yahoo, one of the results it brings up a Wikipedia page which appears to suggest that there was a constructive article on this subject.

Also, the page had been assessed as long ago as August 2006, and was actually deleted yesterday (22 September 2007) 81.158.143.107 15:27, 23 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

DEFINITELY! Put this back! Who does these things? --Doric Loon 10:15, 24 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Spelling of title edit

This title contains an Apologetic apostrophe, which would not be used in Broad Scots. 166.203.124.95 (talk) 23:49, 24 July 2011 (UTC) Collin237Reply

I realize this response is a bit overdue (11 years!), but actually, Burns did use these apostrophes. I'm familiar with the view in modern Scots literary circles that it is wrong, but you can't apply that retrospectively to an 18th century text. Doric Loon (talk) 18:35, 11 March 2023 (UTC)Reply

Scottish Gaelic edit

I don't think it's appropriate to put a random translation in the lede. The poem is not in Scottish (Gaelic), but Scots and English. The whole article neglects to mention any Scottish translation; such a mention would be a more appropriate place to put the Scottish name. I'd also add that in searching "A bheil Bochdainn Onarach Ann" on G****e, it's just a gazillion AI-looking websites pointing back to this article. I'm deleting it for these reasons, and if there's a Scottish-language version that bears mentioning, it should be added (perhaps as described above). 184.147.148.9 (talk) 04:48, 31 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
