False information regarding operators

edit

Someone added false information - Poland did not deliever 18 + 54 free AHS Krabs. It was 18 free Krabs and 52 sold, paid by EU and US.

The original source polish sites use is the press conference from Ukraines Defense Minister Oleksiv Reznikov in Brussel.

His words were:

"We have a contract for a gift of a division from Poland and also conclude a contract for three more divisions and this contract is being implemented today, we have paid the first tranch and accordingly in the near futue will receive more krab".

Polish source claim this as 3 FREE divisions of AHS Krab (Which means 3x18 - in total 72)but this is about the 3 Divisions that are about to come. They received the first delievery of SOLD Krabs in October.

Krab's barrel

edit

Contrary to what was stated in the article, Krab doesn't use barrels designed by Rheinmetall and produced under license, it never did. The first barrels for Krab prototypes, still on UPG-NG chassis, were made by VSEL in the UK (you can tell them apart by the round muzzle brake, the same as on the AS-90). After that, first 9 barrels for the pre-production series Krabs were ordered from Nexter,[1] then additional 16 from Rheinmetall,[2] and since the berrel manufacturing capability was estabilished at HSW in 2019, all the Krab barrels are made in HSW from forgings imported from Aubert&Duval.[3] So the barrels for Krabs were never produced under a German license, and neither were the whole guns - the muzzle brake, breech assembly, trunnion and recoil mechanism were produced in Poland from the very beginning.
