This article needs a more balanced viewpoint, especially since it goes to great detail and length to vividly describe the story per the viewer's interpretations. As it stands, it reads more like a long review of the movie that seemingly praises the "war sacrifices" of the troubled protagonists, without much regard for accuracy in terms of the film's historical context.

For example, the article should at the very least mention how Koreans fought against each other during the Korean War (ostensibly a "civil war" between factions that rose out of the previous Japanese colonial era.)

As it stands, the article merely summarizes the film's story from start to finish, taking a rather simplistic "anti-Communist" stance to praise the film's depiction of South Korean student "volunteers" during the Korean War. It completely lacks outside references to all of the claims regarding the film's intentions, and is completely lacking in basic critical analysis. The article reads more like a movie review rather than a Wikipedia article as of March 2015.

Please fix when possible; if you plan to document the historical context, please provide more background for the discussion as a way to make the article more nuanced instead of how it currently stands. Thank you. Transnational Capitalists (talk) 04:44, 27 March 2015 (UTC)
