Dear Sir.I am afraid that some of your information re the 5th Field Regt is incorrect. The 5th Field Regt was in existence way before your figures. I was A D/O in the 5th Field Regt. in 1945. It consisted of 3 Batteries, 63, 73, and 81 Batterys also RHQ.I joined it in Penally Camp, South Wales in 1945, we then Moved to Builth Wells, Mid Wales, and then Straight Across to Germany, Ending up in the Harz Mountains. I was stationed in Herzburg, 81 Battery, then transferred to 63 Battery In Bad Lauterberg, The units were then Transferred to Italy,First Sagrado. then to Lippizano which then was in Jugoslavia, and then I was transferred back to HQRA<CMF< Udine. Then transferred back to HQ, BAOR, Bad Oyenhausen, prior to demob. If you want proof, I have it!! Peter Proctor.
