Plot edit

I highly doubt this is the actual plot:

Four teen girls diving in a ruined underwater city quickly learn they've entered the territory of the deadliest shark species in the claustrophobic labyrinth of submerged caves. The sharks have been Blinded by nuclear explosions and have mutated.Unable to see there pray the sharks have developed laser beams and ATAT walkers, like the ones in Star Wars the empire strikes back.Unable to stop the sharks the divers give up and sacrifice themselves to the sharks.

But I haven't seen the movie and can't edit it correctly.

Plot 2 edit

Set in Mexico, Mia (Sophie Nelisse), an American girl who has recently moved to Mexico with her undersea explorer father (John Corbett), his new wife (Nia Long) and stepsister Sasha (Corinne Foxx, daughter of Jamie), who fails to protect her from the school mean girls who bully her for no evident reason. The next day, Dad tries to get the two to share some quality time together by getting them tickets for a glass-bottomed boat excursion but when Sasha’s friends, Alexa (Brianne Tju) and Nicole (Sistine Stallone, niece of Frank), turn up with a better idea, she goes with them and brings Mia along for the ride.

The better idea turns out to be a remote lagoon adjacent to the entrance to a submerged Mayan city that Mia’s dad recently discovered. Luckily, his research team has left four sets of scuba gear around and the four decide to take a quick peek at the city’s first entry point. It is all fun and games for a bit but when one of them panics when a fish lunges at her, it inspires a chain reaction that sends much of the entrance crashing down and cutting them off from the surface. It's only then that the promised shark makes its long-overdue appearance—in this case, it is a great white who is blind from having spent so long in the underwater depths without sunlight but whose other senses are heightened as a result. Now, with dwindling air supplies and a blind and cranky shark at their heels, the four are forced to negotiate the twisty, increasingly cramped surroundings in a desperate effort to save themselves from drowning and being digested. 47.12.106.111 (talk) 18:53, 19 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

I don't like this. It looks over-personalized and too much unnecessary details. MushroomDiamond (talk) 15:42, 21 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Plot update: The four girls are Mia, Sasha, Nichole, and Alexa. Mia and Sasha are step-sisters who are not particularly close. While skipping out on a tourist shark seeing cruise to go scuba diving, Nichole refuses to follow the rule to stick together, swimming off after a fish. She is startled and causes destruction to the ruins, which blocks the entrance/exit from the cave.

While looking for another way out, they encounter Ben, who works with Mia’s Dad. He is the first eaten by a shark. They attempt to follow Ben’s guideline to get out, while being low on air. Chased by a shark, they get trapped in an air pocket, where Mia hears music, finds an opening and goes through thinking the music is her dad who is mapping the cave system nearby. But the music leads to the second shark victim Carl, another diver working with Mia’s dad. Grant finds Mia, she tells him both Ben and Carl are dead, and the other girls are in the air pocket. They start heading back to the air pocket when the shark attacks again. Someone distracts the shark, while they all swim away to the entrance/exit used by Grant’s diving team. Here there is a harness that they can use to get out. Mia starts to ascend, but two sharks appear, Nichole panics and starts climbing over Mia. The harness dislodges from their combined weight, Nichole falls in the water, and is eaten by the sharks. With no other way out, they need to go back down to get out. As Grant is explaining this to be the only option, a shark eats him.

The remaining three girls are attacked by a shark as they start to descend, Sasha gets dragged down by the underwater currents, and Alexa and Mia continue to try and find their way out fighting the currents. There is another shark attack; Alexa panics and takes off her scuba mask and drowns. Mia gets pulled down by the current, where she finds Sasha. They share the remaining air, while continuing to try to find a way through that avoids the currents. At what they think is a dead end, Sasha gets stuck while being attacked by a shark. This creates an opening. They keep moving towards what they think is daylight.

Mia has to take her scuba pack off when it gets stuck; her legs get caught in the straps but she is able to kick the gear off. They swim up to surface, spot a boat and start swimming towards it. The water becomes bloody from the chum being tossed by the people on what is a shark-seeing expedition boat. The girls are surrounded by this bloody water, go under water to the glass section of the boat, where the tourists spot them. Mia gets pulled up, but Sasha gets pulled under by a shark.

Mia grabs a flare gun, goes back in the water, shoots the shark to release Sasha. As she is swimming back to the boat, she gets grabbed by a shark. She stabs the shark while it is pulling her down and gets released. Sasha gets pulled up to safety, although she is wounded in the side from where the shark had a hold of her. As Mia is getting pulled up, a shark makes another attempt to grab Mia, narrowly missing her foot. The girls realize the tourist boat is the one they skipped out on to go on their adventure.

Order of deaths 1) Ben, a scuba diver working with Mia's dad, Grant 2) Carl, a scuba diver working with Mia's dad, Grant 3) Nichole 4) Grant, Mia's dad, who is also Sasha's step-dad 67.213.92.32 (talk) 15:23, 25 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Maya not mayan edit

I don't want to edit all the instances of this in the article without posting anything yet, but it's "Maya city" not "Mayan city," 'Mayan' is only ever used (academically) for the language spoken by the modern day Maya. — Preceding unsigned comment added by PlatypusPlatypi (talkcontribs) 09:38, 22 June 2022 (UTC)Reply
