This page, if even slightly questionable, is only subject to nomination for deletion. Any speedy deletion of this page — ESPECIALLY one baselessly citing WP:G10, is an abuse of special editing privileges and I will make a report if it is done again. 9t5 (talk) 23:30, 20 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@9t5: Wikipedia is not a news website, nor should it become a court of public opinion. According to WP:BLPCRIME, Wikipedia should not be identifying suspects accused of crimes if they have not appeared in court and been convicted of the crimes they have been accused of. While that might not be grounds for speedy deletion as an attack page, I think it is too soon to be having this article name the person who has been arrested. At least wait until they have been convicted of the crime they are accused of. After all, everyone accused of a crime has the right to be presumed innocent until found guilty after a fair trial. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 00:21, 21 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Cameron Dewe There is an “ACCUSED” parameter in {{infobox civilian attack}}. Not only that, he admitted he committed the crime to the police in a videotaped confession. You think it’s too soon? Splendid! Nominate the article for deletion. You didn’t justify the misuse of speedy deletion. That of which cited WP:G10 as the justification for - which is COMPLETELY out of line. I am actually offended and appalled as an editor that such careless oversight takes place. 9t5 (talk) 00:29, 21 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@9t5: I don't think there are grounds for speedy deletion. What WP:BLPCRIME asks is that editors not publish articles before a conviction has been entered for an accused person. Even if the suspect has confessed to the crime, they have not been convicted for it. This is a due process issue concerning a person's constitutional rights to a fair trial. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 00:42, 21 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
