2020 New York State Assembly election → 2020 New York State Assembly elections – There are many (plural) elections. See, for example, 2020 United States House of Representatives elections.

This would apply to all states' elections since 1787. That's a lot, I know, and I don't think I can post this on literally thousands of talk pages.

Furthermore, if approved, how could all these pages be moved without having to do it manually? —GoldRingChip 21:39, 7 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Oppose per WP:NC-GAL (the fifth bullet point: For elections to particular bodies or offices, default to the form "Date [adjectival form of country name] Body/Office election", as in: 2007 Scottish Parliament election, 2008 Nepalese Constituent Assembly election, or 2011 Kentucky Attorney General election.). These articles are not on multiple elections, they are one election to a single legislature (the excuse I have heard before for the use of the plural is that voting takes places in multiple constituencies, but this is the case in numerous elections, including the first two cited in the guideline, and we still use the singular). The US House and Senate elections are the ones that need moving to comply with the naming guideline – they are the exception to the rule rather a justification for a move here.
