Splitting the table edit

I believe that the reason why User:Rustyspaces rearranged the table (see latest edit) was that he wanted to show the first name of the athletes, without making the table too large (which is a problem if you see it on a smartphone). I agree that showing each climber's complete name is nice. However, the table was better structured and easier to read before, when men and women were listed in separate columns (see previous revision of this article). Now, men and women are listed in the same columns, and this reduces, in my opinion, the readability of the table.

Of course, you can sort by gender (the table is sortable). But the table is not sorted by gender when you open it, and most readers won't notice that they can sort it.

I propose to solve both problems (showing first names and keeping men separated from women) by splitting the table. Namely, I believe it would be nice to have three separate tables, one for women, one for men and one for national teams. Paolo.dL (talk) 14:29, 11 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

First, thank you for your feedbacks! I made the table thinking that it would be nice to have just one sortable table comprising of all the events of the season. Of course, it's my subjective opinion. Please feel free to improve the table and the article. I really don't mind if it leads to better reading experience for people. Cheers! :) Rustyspaces (talk) 02:07, 12 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. I like sortable tables. In this case, sortable is useful especially for disciplines (Lead, bouldering and speed). Paolo.dL (talk) 15:12, 12 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
