One thing that should be noted

RSMC Reunion gives tracks for the full life cycle of each storm, even outside their area of responsibility. The SWI articles should probably do likewise because here's an example of the confusion it might cause. Oscar-Itseng is listed as an Intense Tropical Cyclone [1] even though it had already weakened from this intensity after crossing 90E. Good kitty 17:10, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

TD 5R

So I'm in a bit of a pickle (cue Pickle Rick from Rick and Morty). I'm researching TD 5, but there's nothing in the MFR report, and just a brief mention in Gary Padgett's summary. It was a short-lived TD northeast of Madagascar, and I can barely verify its existence. @Hurricanehink: Just contributing and spreading my opinions here. So if this is the case where there's nothing in the MFR report about it and there are barely any info about the system, I would make an OS section, like we did to Bakung a few years ago. Typhoon2013 (talk) 01:27, 26 July 2017 (UTC)

It seems that RSMC La Réunion did not include TDs in its best track data until the 2011–12 season, indicated by the main website and the other. 🐱💬 01:39, 26 July 2017 (UTC)

If the rest of the systems can get full blown sections, maybe stick it in the SS with something like "January featured four named storms, in addition to a tropical disturbance that existed from from January 22–24 to the east of the African coast", but that is kinda wordy. • The previous two years only mentioned the tropical cyclone year date because the date changed. I find it odd to shoehorn the TC year in, and I'm not sure it's needed in every article. • "Also in that month was Intense Tropical Cyclone Frank, which developed quickly but remained away from land." is this actually worth mentioning in the lead? You mention it had very favorable conditions in the last sentence yet you discuss the storm's outflow which is somewhat of an odd edition for a season section on a storm with an article and then just two sentences earlier mention warm waters and low shear. • Gaffilo's section in general seems really focused on met details, whether it's MH or focus on stuff like rainfall totals. Then again you're kinda in a tough spot here, with Gaffilo's article being as bad as the vision of a bat and you seemed only to focus on what MFR included in its report. I'd go through 1 or 2 relief web reports randomly and add only the impact information as that'd be more likely to get something that resembles an adequate summary. I could add stuff from LexisNexis if you want, as well, but then you run the risk of me messing up the flow slightly. YE ^{Pacific Hurricane} 09:51, 27 June 2018 (UTC)

• The MFR report had a lot of good info to begin with, but perhaps it wasn't placed the best. I reorganized Gafilo's section, so the first paragraph is more of its origins plus early impacts, then peak intensity and Madagascar impacts, followed by the end of its life cycle. I also included a ReliefWeb source mentioning Elita and Gafilo, as well as the final death/damage toll from EM-DAT. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 13:47, 28 June 2018 (UTC)
