The article contains the following language:

The 1940 Constitution of Cuba, was implemented in 1940, during the presidency of Batista.

While it is true that Batista was a major, if not "the," power in Cuba from 1934 -1944, he was not President of Cuba until 10-20-1940. This Constitution came into effect in 7/1940 under Federico Laredo Brú's Presidency. At the very least, some clarification is required in the wording of this article. Platt amendment

edit

The article Platt Amendment says [unsourced] that this constitution 'eliminated' the amendment from the 1940 Constitution. Nothing here says so - is it true? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.97.11.54 (talk) 11:32, 4 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

There was a national election 1958 Cuban general election by the People of Cuba who elected Andrés Rivero Agüero. The inconvenient truth is that the self appointed "new government", not Batista, were the ones that overthrew a dully elected government and the Constitution of 1940.
