Possible Record edit

I looked at the Best Track, in here [1] and I noticed a unique record set by this year. The 7th and final storm of this year reached major hurricane status on November 17, and I think that marks the latest date for the season's first major hurricane to form in the Atlantic Basin. I think this should be mentioned in the article. Does anyone else agree on this? Rye998 (talk) 02:21, 25 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • " The season's most intense and most devastating tropical cyclone was final storm, known as the Jamaica hurricane. " missing a "the". YE Pacific Hurricane 20:49, 18 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • Why not seasonal summary section? YE Pacific Hurricane 20:49, 18 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • "On June 7, ships in the Gulf of Mexico began encountering a low pressure area with a closed circulation about 100 mi (160 km) southeast of Port Eads, Louisiana.[4]" "began encourtering" sounds weird in this context since in those days, weather reports were heavily based on ships. IMO "reported a low pressure area" could work here. YE Pacific Hurricane 20:49, 18 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • "Some locations in eastern North Carolina reported strong winds, particularly at Fayetteville, there were was a "severe local storm".[4]" grammar error at the end of this sentence. This should be easy to fix though, as I could see a number of ways to fix this. YE Pacific Hurricane 20:49, 18 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • "Impact was minimal, with the strongest wind speed reported being 37 mph (60 km/h) in Charleston, South Carolina.[4]" how is it impact if there was no damage since nothing was impacted per se. YE Pacific Hurricane 20:49, 18 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • I guess, but I think the observation should be kept.--12george1 (talk) 03:35, 21 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • " A dance pavilion on Santa Rosa Island was partially deroofed, as was a hotel. Damage in Pensacola reached approximately $25,000. In Alabama, the city of Mobile in particular suffered impact from the storm. Some ships and vessels capsized in the Mobile Bay and Mobile River, including a $2,000 barge, drowning a watchman. Winds destroyed a church, though wind damage was otherwise limited to downed street signs and fences. Overall, the hurricane caused $39,000 in damage.[4]" in what year USD? 1912? • "Fifteen people died and damage reached more than $28,000.[4]" see above. YE Pacific Hurricane 20:49, 18 December 2016 (UTC)Reply
