Gilbert Nicholls score - 313 or 316 edit
My suspicion is that we have something wrong here. http://golf.about.com/od/majorchampionships/fl/1906-US-Open.htm gives him a score of 79-81-77-79=316 but puts him in a funny position. Other sources have him as 76-81-77-79=313 and tied for 8th place. See "The Majors of golf". Also e.g. https://news.google.com/newspapers?id=6o0-AAAAIBAJ&sjid=y1kMAAAAIBAJ&pg=5625%2C4575750 The original editor has assumed the 316 is correct and moved Gilbert Nicholls down the list.
