Assessment Commentary edit

I evaluated the article against the B-scale. Here are some points for improvement:

  • References: At least one or two more references are needed, and the format may need to be corrected.
  • Coverage: This area is the most defficient at the present time. Some questions to think about:
    • Why was the design of the 10,000 bill changed?
    • What is the significance of the designs? Fukichi's role as philosopher and educator are mentioned briefly, but perhaps a sentence on how deeply he affected Japanese history might be helpful. Why does the government want to honor him?
    • Is the Phoenix Hall, or the phoenix statue especially pertinent to the history or religion of Japan? Or both?
    • Was there some controvery over having a religious structure on the legal currency?
    • What was the previous design?
    • When was a 10,000 yen note FIRST put into circulation? And why such a large denomination?
  • Structure: Article lacks seperate sections.
  • Supporting Material: This passes, because of the infobox and a photo of the observe of the bill. A photo of the reverse would be helpful, and to a lesser degree, photos of older bills no longer in circulation.

Hope this helps! Good luck! Boneyard90 (talk) 15:39, 31 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
