  1. ^ a b George Allison served as interim head football coach following Harry Jacoby being called into active duty in the United States Army midway through the 1941 season. Allison compiled a 2–1 record as the coach of the Broncos.
  2. ^ a b Boise State was undefeated in ICAC league play, but did not play enough conference opponents to be eligible for the conference championship.
  3. ^ a b Smith was head coach for the first three games of the 1950 season before being recalled to the Navy during the Korean War. George Blankley coached the remainder of the 1950 season.
