Prathinidhi 2 (transl. Representative 2) is an upcoming 2024 Indian Telugu political thriller film written and directed by Murthy Devagupthapu. The film was produced by KumarRaza Bathula, Anjaneyulu Sri Thota and Kondakalla Rajender Reddy under the banners, Vanara Entertainments and Rana Arts.[3] The film features Nara Rohith and Jisshu Sengupta in lead roles.[4] The film is released on 10 May 2024.[5]
Prathinidhi 2 is a sequel to the 2014 film Prathinidhi.[6]

Famous journalist Udaya Bhanu establishes a news channel named NNC with a focus on delivering accurate information to the public. She appoints the honest journalist Chetan as the company’s CEO, who starts uncovering corruption within the political establishment. Amidst this, Chief Minister Prajapathi is assassinated, leading to investigations into the motives behind the crime.
As the investigation unfolds, it's revealed that the assassination was orchestrated by a network of corrupt politicians and vested interests threatened by Prajapathi's integrity and commitment to reform. The assassin's motive lies in maintaining their grip on power and protecting their illicit gains, fearing exposure and accountability if Prajapathi continued his anti-corruption efforts.
Chetan, driven by his dedication to truth and justice, tirelessly pursues leads and uncovers evidence linking influential figures to the assassination plot. However, his path is fraught with danger as he confronts powerful adversaries determined to suppress the truth.
Ultimately, Chetan's efforts lead to the exposure of the masterminds behind the assassination, albeit at great personal risk. His actions inspire public outrage and demand for systemic change.

On July 25, 2023, the creators of the movie unveiled a conceptual teaser.[8]
Principal photography for the film commenced on August 28, 2023, and aimed to conclude production promptly in sync with the initial slated release date of January 25, 2024.[9][10] The climax action sequence was filmed at a fruit market in Hyderabad. The film's shooting was wrapped up between December 2023 and January 2024.[11]
The teaser of the film was released on 29 March 2024, by Chiranjeevi.[12] and the Theatrical trailer of the film was released on 19 April 2024.[13] The official trailer for Prathinadhi 2 was unveiled on May 8, 2024.[14]
Soundtrack edit
The soundtrack album and background score were composed by Mahati Swara Sagar and Divo Music secured the audio rights.[15] The first single of the song "Galla Yetthi" was released.[4]

Reception edit
Shekhar Kusuma of The Times of India rated the film 2.5/5 stars and stated that "Pratinidhi 2 criticizes politics through Representative 2's use of a pen, possibly showing some bias like in real-life journalism, but doesn't have scenes that could strongly influence viewers political views".[16]
Eenadu wrote "The film is praised for its great camera work and music, but it could use some editing improvements. It aims to please audiences without bringing anything new to the table".[17]
123 Telugu rated the film 2.5/5 stars and wrote "Prathinidhi 2 features a promising premise with Nara Rohit's compelling portrayal of a journalist, but suffers from superficial writing and a faltering second half, ultimately failing to deliver as an honest political drama".[18]
Release edit
The film was initially planned for a theatrical premiere on 25 January 2024, aligning with Republic Day, but was later pushed back to 25 April 2024.[19]
Prathinidhi 2 is released on 10 May 2024.[20]
