Dr. Pemmasani Chandrasekhar is an Indo-USA based entrepreneur and politician. He is the founder and CEO of UWorld, an online learning portal for high-stakes exams.[1] He founded the company from his dorm while completing his medical residency when he noticed a need for high-quality exam-like study materials for the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE).[2]
Early life edit
Chandra hails from Burripalem in Guntur District,[3] also the native village of Telugu cinema icons Krishna and Mahesh Babu. He is a distant relative of actor Krishna.[4]
Education edit
Chandra is a MBBS graduate from Osmania University and is qualified to practice medicine in the United States. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Geisinger Medical Center in Pennsylvania and served as an instructor at Johns Hopkins University/Sinai Hospital in Maryland before moving to Dallas, Texas in 2010, where he established the corporate headquarters of UWorld.[5]

Chandra is a member of Telugu Desam Party and is declared as a candidate for Guntur Lok Sabha constituency for 2024 Indian general election.[6]

He is the recipient of Ernst & Young USA Entrepreneur Of The Year Southwest Region Entrepreneur Of The Year Award 2020.[7]
