Jairam Mahto is an Indian politician and an independent MP candidate from Giridih Lok Sabha constituency of Jharkhand[1][2]. He, also known as 'Tiger Jairam Mahto'[3], was born in the village of Mantand in Topchachi, located within the Dhanbad district of Jharkhand, India.

He founded the Jharkhandi Bhasha Khatiyani Sangharsh Samittee (JBKSS)[4][5], a new political party, and is a key figure in the ongoing struggle for the state's 1932 domicile policy.[6][7]

He received his M.A. in English Honours from P. K. Roy Memorial College Dhanbad. Presently, he is doing his PhD (English) from Binod Bihari Mahto Koyalanchal University.
