Jahangir Gaon is a village in the 2nd ward of Bangla Bazar Union in the south-eastern part of Dowarabazar Upazila in the Sunamganj District of Bangladesh's Sylhet Division.^[1]

Demographics

According to the 2011 Bangladesh census, Jahangir Goan had 100 households and a population of 550. The literacy rate (age 7 and over) was 38.8%, compared to the national average of 35.8%.^[2]^[3]

Economy

Most of the villagers work in agriculture.^[2] Expatriates from the village support it economically.^{[citation needed]}

Government offices

The Banglabazar post office formerly served 38 surrounding villages. Its post code number is 3070.

Education

There is one primary school Jahangir Gaon Government Primary School one secondary school (Barkhal M.L. school and college) and one Dakhil (secondary) madrasa, and one Hafizia Madrasa.^[4]
