Finding the redirects edit

Following up the comment here, I've generated a list of around 200 pages that are probably redirects with WP-ME tags on their talk pages. Each page on the following list needs to be examined, and if it is a redirect: (a) categorise in Category:Middle-earth redirects and (b) remove the WP-ME template from the talk page. If it is an ordinary article (unlikely), it should be categorised within the category structure under Category:Tolkien (eg. List of Middle-earth Orcs), and have the WP-ME tag placed on the talk page (they should all already have that tag). Please remove entries when they have been examined and dealt with as specified above. Carcharoth 06:31, 20 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

End of list. Carcharoth 06:31, 20 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
List cleared. Four items above left to document cases not covered in initial note.

Fantastic. Great work coming up with the list and clearing it, Carcharoth. --Fang Aili talk 05:43, 21 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Actually, the list went up to around J and then stopped. I think that they can all be traced to AWB adding of the WP-ME tag by a single editor, but I'm not sure whether they stopped at J, or whether there are redirects out there that haven't been spotted. I'm happy to have found another 200, so I think the best thing to do now is carry on perusing the unassessed article category and assigning ratings and importance. If you do more assessment, could you concentrate on those already assigned an importance rating (I picked out the ones I thought needed priority, and left the untidy, trivial stuff for later). Assessing the low-importance ones might be a waste of time, as they might get merged into lists later anyway. Thanks. Carcharoth 15:05, 21 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Brilliant reorganisation edit

I've been meaning to do something like this for the redirects for a long time. This is very impressive and just what was needed to demonstrate how redirects, lists and sections can make a comprehensive guides while not having hundreds of stubs. Súrendil, thanks so much for doing this work and do say if you need any help. Carcharoth 10:38, 19 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
