Kid vs Kat Season 2 Episodes

edit

Hello there; you may remember me from a while back. I'm HugeKidvsKatFan; I became a part of Wikipedia to gain more info for Kid vs Kat Wikia, which I am an Administrator of along with a few others. I've noticed that no new episodes have come out for Season 2, besides the current ones, but Wikipedia appears to already have the entire Season 2 Episode Guideline mapped out. Very interesting; my main question for you, though is, are these episodes credible? Are they the for-real episodes of Season 2 or is someone just putting random episodes up there? Please get beck to me ASAP. --HugeKidvsKatFan (talk) 19:42, 6 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Piquadro

edit

Hello Dlohcierekim,

with reference to the Piquadro article I've noticed there are issues with the subjects' notability. As I am quite new at Wikipedia I went through some documentation, still I fail to fully understand what's missing. Is it a problem of sources? I mean, I did list some sources but infact most of them are primary, is it sufficient to add some secondary sources to get rid of those tags? Thks in advance for your help Salomon77 (talk) 09:39, 1 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Well, the main problem is the lack of significant, verifiable information cited from reliable, 3rd party sources not connected with the subject showing that subject meets notability guidelines, particularly WP:CORP. Dlohcierekim 12:40, 1 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

CSD closing template

edit

I'm not entirely sure what is going on with Heath Creel. It looks like both you and I deleted that page. That's not really why I am here, but if you have an answer to that mystery, it would be appreciated.

The real reason I am here is that I see you left a message after deleting. I assume you are using a template, but I didn't figure out which one, so I thought I would ask. I just reread Wikipedia:Deletion process and Wikipedia:New admin school/Deleting; I didn't see any discussion of standard templates for closing CSD. Can you tell me which one you used? --SPhilbrickT 22:20, 29 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Will check on the former. As to the latter, there is no standard template. I feel that if I delete a page, I owe the creator and explanation, a way to contact me to appeal, and educational links to improve their article building. I also have essential tremors to the point where it can take a very long time to type a simple message. So I created a template I located at a dummy account pageUser:dloh/d. I have links to a number of templates that help me communicate linked from User:dloh. That way, I can just type "{{user:dloh/whatever}}" and the software handles the rest. Hopes this helps. Dlohcierekim 22:40, 29 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the info. I like the concept, I plan to steal your templates, unless you object.-- Dlohcierekim 22:40, 29 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
As to the former, Special:Undelete/Heath_Creel looks like I deleted at 2121. User recreated at 2132. You deleted in turn @ 2207. You're very welcome. No prob. I would feel thrilled that someone else valued the thing. Dlohcierekim 22:40, 29 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

If you identify an IP as being from a school, any school, indef soft-block it. Sure, the way it is now the blocks can be up to a year, but by then how much work have they caused us? Also, if one person is using an IP, generally others at the same time, which means we're not just tracking one person, we could be tracking ten, which is why school-IP vandalism is so chaotic. DearDlohcierekim: This is a message I wrote to Ohconfucius. I am copying it to you and forwarding. I noticed you declined a speedy deletion on my article: Pianist, but later on you changed your mind, although you were not quite sure why. As I mentioned to Ohconfucius, I would like to fix article rather than being it deleted, considering that this is my first article. I would be appreciative if you can be supportive and help me improving or fixing problems on my article. Thanks! Sausa11 (talk) 17:52, 2 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Dear Ohconfucius I noticed you put a tag for speedy deletion on my new article. I am a new user on wikipedia. I am aware that article (created by music43lover) previously was deleted. I thought I did a lot of work in changing a content (please compare new one to older one) and worked a lot on references. I spent hours in doing this, still thinking of creating a new solid encyclopedic version about this pianist. I would rather get a motivation than discouragement.I think Dlohcierekim declined speedy deletion too, although later he changed his mind , still put a remark: "I'll take old confucious word for it, though I don't see it" . I cordially ask you to point out the phrases or sections in the article that makes you think it's a "spam" . I thought the older version had an advertisement content, therefore i created a new one. I made a Biographgy shorter with a reliable references. If List of notable concert appearances and Recording list makes it to think it's a advertisement I will simply remove it. I would really like to get some feedback, rather than get my very first article deleted. Allow me to fix the problems if there are pointing them out. Thanks! Racism in the Islamic republic of Iran

edit

(permalink to earlier part of thread) Hello, can you please have a look to the content of the article? If you do so, you'll easily recognize it's an attack page. According to article 19 of the Iranian constitution:the people of Iran belonging to whatever ethnic or tribal group shall enjoy equal rights and colour of skin, race, language and the like shall not be considered as a privilege.. Also most of the article is about Ahmadi Nejad, not Iran. It's notable that the supreme leader of iran whi has the absolute power is an Azeri ethnic. can I restore the speedy deletion template?--Aliwiki (talk) 21:46, 2 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Take it to WP:AFD. If you are correct a consensus should quickly form in favor of deletion. What would be better would be to discuss problems with the article with other editors and work out a solution. The next step would be to open an WP:RFC on the content. Or even seek redress at one of the admin boards. Deletion is generally the last resort, to be used only when all other methods have failed. Dlohcierekim 21:50, 2 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

As a courtesy to other editors, it is a Wikipedia guideline to sign your posts on talk pages, user talk pages, and WikiProject pages. To do so, simply add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comments. Your user name or IP address (if you are not logged in) and the date will then be automatically added along with a timestamp when you save your comment. Signing your comments helps people to find out who said something and provides them with a link to your user/talk page (for further discussion). For further info, read Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines. deletion od The Daily Palette

edit

I believe the deletion od The Daily Palette was a mistake. The Daily Palette was in fact an art milestone which led to other, derivative projects. The page is a sincere effort to document the concept and execution of this project - and is by no means an attempt to promote it. It happened decades ago. It's over. But it continues to reverberate. The fact that you don't appreciate it doesn't mean it is without merit. I will formally challenge the deletion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tbliss558 (talkcontribs) 01:24, 10 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for you note. Regrettably, " insufficient reliable coverage to demonstrate notability" was the reason for the deletion. I was not however the deleting admin. Cheers, Dlohcierekim 18:49, 2 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

article on Chandrajit Bajaj

edit

Hello,

The article on Dr. Bajaj has been up for quite some time now with flags for needing additional references or sources for verification. If one compares Dr. Bajaj's wiki entry with the entries for *every* other one of his peers in ICES, it is rather obvious that the Bajaj article was held to a standard much higher than any of the others. (Examples would be the articles on J. Tinsely Oden, Ivo Babuska, Thomas J.R. Hughes, etc.)

Although I was made aware early on (and understand fully) the concerns regarding conflict of interest with my work on the article, it's quite bothersome that one article is being singled out for scrutiny that goes so obviously above its peers. Is there any way to have the flags removed... and if not, how can it be arranged to have the article deleted or taken down?

Many thanks, sfb Suzbailey23 (talk) 22:47, 13 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Caron_Foundation deletion appeal

edit

Hi, I was wondering about deleted page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caron_Foundation in which you noted that it had 62 edits (and longevity on the site).

The Caron centers seem like a pretty major institution and have been around over 50 years. Absent the actual pages, I can't comment on the quality, but 62 edits seem to say somebody put in some effort. Perhaps there was some controversial content that prompted Caron Foundation to ask you to review/remove the entry?

(I'm not affiliated, but am curious about the group, and Wikipedia of course provides my best source of marketing-free information to begin research, the lack of entry and the conspicuously deleted entry makes one wonder)

Proposed deletion of Allen Morris (historian)

edit

The article Allen Morris (historian) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unsourced BLP I think, the article gives very little information about the person. It does not establish notability. I gain no knowledge by reading the article so it is not beneficial to the Encyclopedia.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Ryan Vesey (talk) 01:16, 2 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Response, just so you know the words "I think" weren't meant to show uncertainty. What I meant by them was that there was such a small amount of information that I was not able to determine whether or not the person was alive or dead. Ryan Vesey (talk) 02:38, 2 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

about a deleted page

edit

hi there,

I'm doing research on a bunch of non-profits, and I was told that there was an article for Peace First on Wiki, but it says it was deleted for advertising promotions or something of that sort. If I want to create a new article for it, do I need to ask for your permission?? wasn't sure what it meant by "contact Dlohcierekim" — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hesiarp (talkcontribs) 14:23, 3 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

ah yes. I wonder who told you about the article here? As I deleted the thing, you are right to come to me. My comment on deletion was, "Unambiguous advertising or promotion: a7 as well. a lot of promo buffing, but no hint of notability". That means the article was more like and advertisement than an encyclopedia article. Unambiguous advertising refers to WP:CSD#G11, a7 refers to WP:CSD#A7; follow those links for more info. "Promo buffing" means the article told how wonderful the subject was, but gave no inkling of how it meets notability requirements. You do not need to ask me first, though it's a good way to avoid the same problems that led to deletion in the first place.
SO you came here for information and now wish to help us build our little encyclopedia. Wonderful. That's how many of us got started. Write a few articles and before you know it, you're receiving Barnstars and people are nomming you for adminship. But first, I would suggest reading the above links. Read also the links on the welcome I left you. Read and heed the link "create your first article" and consider the Article Creation Wizard. Make sure you have sourcing and that your subject meets notability guidelines. If after doing those things, contact me and I will send you a copy of the deleted article. Do remedy its faults before reposting, or it will be deleted again.
If you want to know about Peace First, I would suggest going to http://www.peacefirst.org/site/ as they tell all about themselves there. Cheers and happy writing. Dlohcierekim 14:48, 3 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

I see that you have deleted User talk:IHateMarmite, citing CSD U1. However, CSD U1 explicitly states that user talk pages are not covered, and it is accepted that user talk pages should not be deleted under normal circumstances, as there can be a future need to consult their history. Even Wikipedia:Right to vanish says "It does not extend to the deletion of user contributions, and normally does not extend to the deletion of user talk pages". (My emphasis.) Was this a mistake, or is there some reason why you thought it was necessary to make an exception in this case? JamesBWatson (talk) 19:28, 5 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

History of video game consoles (Eighth generation)-- speedy deletion

edit

The reason was given right in the summary, it was deleted 10 times before (shown at the link given) and currently blocked from being created. The editors sought to circumvent past and current consensus of the video game project by changing the capitalization of the disambig to circumvent the page creation block. Likewise the lengthy discussions by the video game project at the Talk:History_of_video_game_consoles_(seventh_generation) --Marty Goldberg (talk) 02:03, 9 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks or your note. For future reference, the db template should be template:db-g4 You can place a | followed by the name of the discussion for refernce. The db tag you placed was garbled and unclear. I will send a note to the article creator. It is best practice to notify a creator if you plan to delete the article. As the present article represents a substantial improvement over the last iteration, it may be be that I will be overturned at WP:DRV, but as the article was protected against recreation, I will need more eyes on it. Thanks, Dlohcierekim 02:33, 9 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion declined: History of video game consoles (Eighth generation)

edit

Hello Dlohcierekim. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of History of video game consoles (Eighth generation), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not previously been deleted via a deletion discussion. Thank you. PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 02:55, 9 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

That was fast. Probably retagged through successive edits. See the talk pages involved, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/History of video game consoles (eighth generation) (5th nomination) was the discussion. It was salted, but is now improved. Left an AN post. Dlohcierekim 02:58, 9 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
PS. Yeah, that's what I thought. Captalized "E". Dlohcierekim 03:02, 9 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
My bad - I saw no AfD showing in the SD tag because of that E! However, I would say that the new version is an improvement over the October 2010 version, as these machines are all announced/named, which they weren't in October. I feel the SD decline was accurate in that I think that it needs to be discussed at AfD. I have no specific opinion as to whether it should ultimately be deleted or not, but I do feel that it should not be speedily deleted - the main cause of concern (WP:CRYSTAL) has been addressed, in that these have all been announced - hell, we even have logos and pictures of them! PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 03:21, 9 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
It still violates WP:CRYSTAL, the question was never whether the consoles exist but whether an 8th generation had been defined by the industry - which is what defines whether an 8th gen page should exist or not (a topic also well discussed at the 7th gen talk page). None of the sources state anything other than these possibly being part of the 8th gen, and even then none are statements of industry recognition of an 8th gen. It's not Wikipedia's place to make that decision, which was the consensus of the video game project. --Marty Goldberg (talk) 03:35, 9 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

The Singing Cookes

edit

Hello Dlohcierekim, thanks for your help on the deletion of the Singing Cookes page. I was waiting on this one because it could have gone either way. I think the pay for print book that was being used as a basis for notability was the only real key factor that could have saved the article. I have ran across several articles that have used these publications as a reference and I always removed them as sources because of their vanity standards. Again, thanks for helping and please let me know if there is anything I can help you with. One day I hope to be an administrator as well! LOL --Canyouhearmenow 04:59, 9 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hello. About this article, it may not meet WP:Athlete, but the subject certainly meets WP:GNG. The sources touched on in the article only scratch the surface of the subject as a highly discussed junior player expected to make the senior team this year. He has already signed with Manchester United. Now, I'm not much of a soccer fan and I know less about it than I do American football, but a simple GNEWS search reveals plenty of sources to meet WP:GNG. I believe the concerns of the last deletion discussion are now met. At the very least, could you restore and send it back to AfD?--v/r - TP 12:49, 11 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hmm. Did you not see the post above yours? Do you mean Velle Baria? This was deleted per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Velle Baria. Current article was not significantly improved. The sourcing did not establish notability, nor did the content. Therefore must be deleted per WP:CSD#G4.
Problems with sourcing:
  • You cannot use the subject singing on youtube as a source.
  • About Vell cannot be used to determine notability.
  • talents-without-borders makes a passing reference
  • Birit Queen Dumbfounds! is limited in significance but suffices for what it ref's. It does not establish notability. (ASP)

You might want to consider WP:DRV. Hope this helps, Cheers, Dlohcierekim 02:14, 12 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

If I were to restore the article w/o WP:DRV, I'd be in trouble as I would have unilaterally overturned prior AFD. Suggest you try WP:DRV. Dlohcierekim

Pataka, you haven't a leg to stand on right now; none of the stuff you use as "references" meet WP:RS, you are writing about a minor who is still alive, which is is a WP:BLP-issue, not to mention the outrageous claims in the article. (Apart from that, I cannot take anyone seriously who claims 4 European native languages in the Philippines) Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 02:30, 12 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

are you very jealous?? Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ you sound jealous to Vell Baria, can u try speaking those?? !! --PatakaZikatuna (talk) 04:53, 12 June 2011 (UTC) Pazi... mon amourReply

First of all that'd be jealous "of" not "to". Secondly — so you're saying you are indeed Vell Baria, or why would I be jealous of her? Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 05:26, 12 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Dlohcierekim I've read already the WP:DRV, the Deletion review and I've like to edit Vell Baria article please......!!! I would put all reliable references... --PatakaZikatuna (talk) 04:59, 12 June 2011 (UTC) yours sincerly angrily, PaZi!Reply

Local Intelligence Networks

edit

I think that this edit was a bit WP:BITE-y. There's an ongoing discussion about linking to the Local Information Networks here, which you might wish to join in. No problem about warning editors about copyvios, of course - but, taking it in context, a final warning for "promotional activity" - when the site concerned is a publicly-funded information hub - strikes me as a bit OTT. Thanks. I will endeavor to follow the escalation protocol more carefully. Dlohcierekim 13:17, 12 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your kind words, and also thanks for creating the articles. I completely agree, deletion is (usually) not the answer. It is always better to have a stub rather than a redlink. Cheers, Constantine 17:41, 12 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Lol, sorry to have caused so much trouble. I guess I looked at that page one way and you've looked at it another and now we've both confused in the middle. Here's a cookie:

Hello there! I need your help with an issue please. A long time ago I created the above mentioned article and added various information to it. Since creating the article if you should read the body of the inclusion you will find that this subject as been the source of a great deal of controversy as well as some criminal activity. The article is very well sourced and verified news agencies. However, we have an individual who continues to either get very verbal and threatening or as today they will just blank the page. The individual is IP address 74.179.36.184. Is there any way that I can get you to please semi protect this page for just registered users please? It would be a great help! Thanks so much..--Canyouhearmenow 19:35, 16 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Gigablast

edit

I see that Gigablast was deleted a few years ago. Though it is certainly a tiny company, I think it's notable as an independent Web search engine with a significant-size index. Please take a look at User:Macrakis/Gigablast to see what you think of my proposed article about it, which includes two independent reliable sources. By the way, I am not affiliated with Gigablast in any way, though I have been in the search industry for some time (Lycos, FAST). --Macrakis (talk) 23:44, 17 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for convincing me to remove the PROD on that page. I finally got around too improving it, and, while it is not amazing by any means, it does appear that the person is notable. Ryan Vesey (talk) 23:38, 24 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi, would it be possible to modify or delete this page? I'm trying to cut down on the spurious results in Category:ParserFunction errors. Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 17:19, 4 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

I am going to go ahead and delete it. Of course, feel free to restore it if it was important. Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 18:03, 7 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Recommendation for band article merger

edit

I have recommended a merge from Detente (band) to Fear of God (American band) because notability for the former article does not seem to be established (official website also conflates the two: http://www.fear-of-god.com/). Cheers!Jarhed (talk) 17:30, 8 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

moving vandal warning to bottom of page and responding

edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Tadeusz Klimecki, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Please abstain from vandalism. First warning. Thank you Vorteil (talk) 20:03, 25 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

My apologies. That revert was unintentional and either a result of my account being hacked (doubtful) or a malfunction with my tablet and the software. At any rate, I'll take steps to keep that sort of thing from recurring. Cheers, Dlohcierekim 23:25, 26 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
All you need to do for desysop is a request to a bureaucrat, either privately or WP:BN. In case you've not seen it — MBisanz, a bureaucrat, has offered to do it if you want it; you'll be able to get the tools back by a simple request at any future date. Please note that he'd like a checkuser on your account to ensure that any future requests to get the tools back are made by you, not by someone else. Nyttend (talk) 02:05, 27 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

About my article about Lance Lucido

edit

Hi, Mr. Dlohcierekim. I already added citations to reliable sources(which includes an Official Website of a TV Network, a Philippine Broadsheet, etc.) to my article, Lance Lucido. When you have time, kindly check whether if already met the relevant notability guideline or not. I'm new to Wikipedia, and ain't sure if already does.
Thanks,
