Yasser Elshantaf (Arabic: ياسر الشنتف) is a Palestinian-German entrepreneur, Digital Transformation Strategist, and political activist,[2][3] born in the Gaza Strip. He holds an MBA in International Business Management from the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society and a Bachelor's in Computer Information Systems.[4][5] In 2009, Elshantaf moved to Germany after receiving the Konrad-Zuse Scholarship for ICT entrepreneurs, awarded and financed by the German Foreign Office.[6]

Elshantaf started his career in Palestine as an IT consultant providing advisory services to international organizations, including the World Bank, European Union, United Nations, and the American Friends Service Committee.[7][8][9]

Elshantaf has been featured in numerous interviews across German and international media. His engagements include a notable discussion with Deutsche Welle,[10] where he addressed public concerns about China's expanding economic influence, the criteria for identifying leading companies, and the challenges confronting the German private sector.

Elshantaf contributed to a workshop on Corruption and Compliance in Transition Countries in North Africa, organized by the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation and the Center for International Peace Operations. Elshantaf participated in the 12th German-Arab Business Forum,[11] which was held in cooperation between the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry.He presented a lecture under the title "ICT, the future for Palestine".

Elshantaf is a co-founder of the German-Palestinian Business Council DPW e.V.; a member of the International Non-Profit Business Association for CEOs and Entrepreneurs, the Junior Chamber International, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Berlin, and the Palestinian Information Technology Association. He has also been involved in many activities supporting the community and the Palestinian economy.

Politics edit

Elshantaf participated as an electoral candidate in the postponed 2021 Palestinian legislative election within the independent electoral list "Maan Qadiroon / Together We Can" headed by Salam Fayyad.[12][13]
