Redirects in updated article list edit

I updated the list of most viewed pharmacology articles on this panel to reflect the most recent page views (from the month of may). However, I noticed that certain articles seemed to get surprisingly few hits. I realized that stats.grok.se does not count redirects to a page when counting pageviews ; adding the redirects for MDMA nearly tripled (!) the pageview count, so I figured this could be rather significant. To try to more accurately gauge which articles are most views, I added redirects with significant (more than a thousand) pageviews to the main pageview count. I don't want it to seem like I'm trying to fudge these numbers in favor of my favorite articles or anything - I am human and do make mistakes, so if I forgot a significant redirect feel free to let me know (or you can fix it yourself!). Articles with their own, separate pages (Eg. Advil vs Ibuprofen) were not added together.

I have counted the following pageview counts as a single value:

Hope this is actually helpful to people - personally, it seems important to me to know which articles are in the highest demand. CrazyChemGuy (talk) (Contribs) 17:44, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I checked many of the articles in List of bestselling drugs as well as Category:High Class pharmaceutical articles. I've added a few more to the list (LSD, Viagra, Methylphenidate, Fluoxetine) that had over 80k pageviews. Judging by the things on the list, it seems that a lot of people probably don't necessarily use WP for medical advice, which is good. However, I think maybe a lot of people use it for... non-medicinal advice. That might be an important thing to keep in mind. CrazyChemGuy (talk) (Contribs) 18:16, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
