The "Kentucky Encyclopedia" at wikia.com seems to be trying to replicate what's here, and thus I don't think that's a good idea as it currently stands.

My (possibly vague) idea would be to put everything that's "encyclopedic" about Kentucky here in the Wikipedia, then creating an add-on "extended almanac" wiki (at Wikia or our own hosted wiki) where we would add all sorts of useful information about Kentucky that wouldn't fit here. Here's some ideas on things I'd like to see accumulated in an extended almanac:

1. Ongoing election/politics guide for political offices in Kentucky, as well as comprehensive information about contacting politicians. Information for various forms of civic participation would be included as well.
2. Directory of Kentucky-based food production companies, as I collected info on a lot of them who participated in this past Spring's Kentucky Crafted show. All these together would make a useful, unique directory.
3. State-wide events calendar
4. Comprehensive listing of Kentucky-related statistics
5. Comprehensive directory of Kentucky arts and crafts

I'm sure there's so much more that could go in something like this. Am I sparking anyone's interest? :) Stevie is the man! ^{Talk • Work} 19:42, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
