First annual Tree of Life Decemberween contest edit

After all the fun with the Spooky Species Contest last month, there's a new contest for the (Northern hemisphere's) Winter holidays at Wikipedia:WikiProject Tree of Life/Contest. It's not just Christmas, but anything festive from December-ish. Feel free to add some ideas to the Festive taxa list and enter early and often. --Nessie (talk) 18:03, 12 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Pollination edit

Anyone know the term for and something about 'wasp pollination'. For the article zoophily, although come to think of it, the entomophily article is missing the terminology found at zoophily. Leo Breman (talk) 22:01, 21 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hmmm. And melittophily apparently leads to pollination syndromes. I'm not sure about that -there is mostly text on the form of flowers there, but this is not much either: Zoophily#Bee pollination (melittophily), and there's not much specific at all at entomophily either. Guinea Paper Wasp name origin edit

I'm wondering if anyone here might know the origins of the common name for Polistes exclamans or be able to point me in a direction where I might find that. I'm in the process of working through the citations on the page but many of the authors of the works have since passed. Thanks, Norm Shea (talk) 16:10, 26 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
