- @Chris troutman: That website is the official tourism portal for the region of Puglia. Obviously this is not a hoax. Sourcing to books in Italian is completely appropriate. One of the books is an entire book about the church.[1] Calliopejen1 (talk) 16:58, 10 August 2021 (UTC)
- While non-English sources are allowed, I am an anglophone monoglot so I wouldn't be able to verify what those books say, even if I had them on hand, which I don't. Hoaxes occur when we don't actually check the sources, as we are required to. I have doubts that a tourism website would be known for reliability. Chris Troutman (talk) 08:12, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
- @Chris troutman: Reviewers are absolutely not required to check print sources while reviewing. And this article has no hallmarks of a hoax that would cause me to do further information of the print sources. (Sometimes I do further diligence, including asking the relevant Wikiprojects, when there is no trace of the topic on Google etc.) The tourism website is produced by the regional government tourism agency, which--even if not as good as an academic book about the church--would be expected to be reasonably reliable for basic information. It confirms that there is a church of this name and age in Locorotondo and that it looks like the photo given. It also confirms that there is a fresco of the Madonna and Child in the interior. I certainly hope that you are not declining perfectly acceptable drafts like these (at a minimum, leave them for another reviewer to handle). Calliopejen1 (talk) 15:36, 13 August 2021 (UTC)

As it happens, I don't think you or anyone else should, although I understand some might think WP:V and WP:AFC/RI allow for it. - Calliopejen1 I think some believe we are but the copyvio tool is slow and not always working, hence why I did not rate this a fail (but others have failed reviews for missing a copy vio). The only time I think missing a copy vio is an issue is if accepted (but that relies on working tools). In an ideal world we would always catch but that (IMHO) is not realistic with tools that are very slow and not always working. We have a daily limit on https://copyvios.toolforge.org/ so if everyone always did a acheck, especially during a backlog drive, it would have stopped working for when we needed it most. Often I find that the wording (and usual lack of sources) indicated probable copy vios, but I missed one that was caught in re-review - we all have to judge when to run the checks.
