edit09:51:37, 9 April 2023 review of submission by Pranaya Deomani
editRemoved bits that were potentially deemed to be promotional. About its notability, it definitely might not be such internationally, but it's one of the oldest and most notable schools in the province and probably deserves a Wikipedia page given that some other schools of the same place already have one :( Pranaya Deomani (talk) 09:51, 9 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Pranaya Deomani: you may be confusing notability, in the Wikipedia context, with real-life 'importance' or 'reputation' or some such concept. Whether this school is notable depends purely on whether you can find independent and reliable secondary sources that meet the WP:GNG standard. As for whether some other schools have a Wikipedia article, this is neither here nor there, as WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS explains. In any case, this draft has been rejected and will not be considered further. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 09:59, 9 April 2023 (UTC)

I want to know if my article about Kindlewood Soirées is in an acceptable format for review.

The reason why I added youtube links to the references is because they are official releases directly from the artist's label and the production credit I'm referencing is included and confirmed in the video's bio. Does this still not qualify as a confirmed reference?
Rellroberts1 (talk) 19:49, 9 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Rellroberts1 YouTube is generally a poor source to use. Try AllMusic but even so being credited is not enough to meet the notability guidelines. S0091 (talk) 22:54, 9 April 2023 (UTC)
20:30:14, 9 April 2023 review of draft by Alossola
edit
This is a Jazz topic.
As a general fan of Sant Andreu Jazz Band and it's members, I joined this draft when it was set to be confirmed and noticed the recent decline. Now, I'm interested to push on, and I worked on the references, concentrating on relevance. I may have gained a bit with Rolling Stone and Cosmopolitan(?)
My questions are,
- Is there any hope, as the young artist, successful in Europe, probably is at the brink of worldwide relevance,
and
- What is necessary to arrive at a successful second confirmation?
- Which is the audience/community to provide advice and help?
(I "talked" to two major contributers in parallel)
Alossola (talk) 20:30, 9 April 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @Alossola unfortunately I am unable to assess some of the key sources. The Cosmo article is weak as it doesn't say much about her, just a brief introduction. If any of the sources are in-depth coverage about her, not interviews or what she says, then I think it is hopeful. What is best are in-depth reviews about her work. I found this which you can use. - Thanks for your active help, @S0091! I fixed the one inaccessible link (a picture) and heeded your advice of "10 sources only". Cosmo may be the next one out - some kind of name throwing...
- Now, on to the deep reviews! Alossola (talk) 06:45, 10 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Alossola Wikipedia doesn't generally have articles about artists who are "on the brink". An article is timely when the artist has reached notability, and others have chosen to write and publish information about him or her. I see that you are trying to find this. Good luck. Also, see WP:TOOSOON which might be relevant. David10244 (talk) 08:44, 10 April 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for the encouragement! Payés certainly has local notability, as lemmata in Catalan, Spanish and German show. Is this relevant here? And, how to show in the draft?
I'm digging... Alossola (talk) 09:33, 10 April 2023 (UTC)- @Alossola The existence of articles in other Wikipedia languages has no bearing on here. Each language is its own project with its own rules and guidelines. Generally English Wikipedia is more strict as far as establishing notability. However what you can do is see if there are any useful sources in those articles that have in-depth coverage about her/her work. On another note, I caution you about using peacock language and you also must only summarize what the sources actually state. For example using the NPR source, you wrote "The track Nunca vas a comprender, (text and music: Rita Payés) found huge acclaim on streaming services and Youtube", (emphasis mine) but that is not what the source states.
