Hello!,

It is the first time I try to make an article in Wikipedia, I already have experience in other wikis and editing topics but I would like to know what my article has lacked and how it could be improved to be approved. What was missing in my article? How can I improve it?

Greetings, and thanks in anticipation DarkGames26 (talk) 01:39, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@DarkGames26: much of the content is unreferenced, and the sources cited don't meet the WP:GNG standard for notability. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:27, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

06:00:29, 24 October 2022 review of draft by Walticular

I do not understand why the submission is being rejected. Dr. Giuliano is a well-known elder in the anti-aging community, and, as evidenced by references provided, he is a much-published author in several subjects, and continues that history by making important contributions in geroscience. For example, his "Younging" approach stands out for its unique study and advancement of emerging techniques that stimulate the "cholinergic anti-inflamatory pathway", which can significantly reverse the chronic inflammation associated with age-related diseases. I hope to provide more information about him, but figured it best to start with a bite-sized entry, and get that right before proceeding. Walticular (talk) 06:00, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Walticular: it wasn't rejected, it was declined. And the reason for that was that there is no indication of any notability, and the sources cited are useless. If the draft survives the pending speedy deletion, you're welcome to improve it. In which case, your primary objective should be to cite sources that demonstrate notability per WP:GNG. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 08:41, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Though I am frustrated and confused about the rules, I appreciate your efforts. I will be joining in to a "Teahouse" Q&A/training group run by Liz. Please don't completely delete the draft, but rather just return it to 'draft' status, so I can salvage whatever is good, and not have to start over from scratch, once I learn the ropes a little better. Walticular (talk) 18:26, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Asked and answered at Teahouse. Walticular directed to ask the Admin who did the Speedy deletion (for cause (G11=Promotional)) for the draft content back, so he can try again. Reason for the SD included no useful references. David notMD (talk) 04:00, 25 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

My piece has been declined 3 times now - I’m finding it really hard to know why. My father who died 20yrs ago is about to have performances of his pieces to mark his 90th in March 2023, Ty Cerdd have posted about David Harries on their web, I thought Wiki would be a good place to have current info about David Harries too. But I keep getting knocked back, there isn’t a lot out there and that is why I’m trying to get info out there, but how can I when everything about my father is written in books and not on line?? Please assist me in best way of getting my page on wiki

Thank you Deiniol

@The Sleeping Lord: Wikipedia articles are not written based on what someone knows (or thinks) to be true, but on what reliable published sources have said about the subject. Therefore you have to forget what you know about your father, and only summarise — without adding any spin — what you can find in published sources.
Note that sources don't have to be online, and they don't have to be in English. They do have to be published, though, so that anyone can verify them if needed.
Finally, you have an obvious conflict of interest (COI); therefore, I have posted a message on your talk page about how to address this matter. Best, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 11:28, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@The Sleeping Lord Wikipedia is not for getting info out there; it is for summarizing info that is already out there.
Note that books are perfectly good references, if they talk about your father. David10244 (talk) 05:21, 26 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! The article that I wrote was rejected and noted that it sounded too much like an advertisement. Since the large majority of this information is coming from independent 3rd party published sources (that are cited in article), could someone please tell me how this article needs to be edited or simplified so that it can actually be approved?

Thanks, Matt

Matt Bullseye First, if you are associated with this company, that must be declared, please read WP:COI and WP:PAID.
The problem is not the sources themselves, but their content. They are almost exclusively announcements of routine business activities, which does not establish notability. What is being looked for are independent reliable sources with significant coverage of the company, showing how it meets Wikipedia's special definition of a notable company. "Significant coverage " goes beyond the mere reporting of what the company does and goes into detail about its significance or influence as the source sees it, not as the company sees it. 331dot (talk) 23:40, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
