I Just would like to know how to meet the requirements to be sufficiently notable to be included on wikipedia? Spreacha BG (Big Grimey) (talk) 00:42, 21 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Spreacha BG (Big Grimey): - for your purposes, meeting one of the criteria within musician notability would be needed. There would then need to be other major changes to satisfy other necessities. Nosebagbear (talk) 00:55, 21 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Sir,

I am new to Wikipedia, I want to write about the Pakistani Artists so that they can be known to the world. I have a list of amazing artists that needs to be known by the world. I will appreciate if some one can guide me with minimum requirement, procedure to be followed. If there is some one who can post those for me that will be even great. I can provide input data.

Thanks a lot,

Ishfaq Ahmad

Hi Kashif2508 I've left a welcome basket of links on your talk page that may help you understand the requirements and procedures. As an encyclopedia, Wikipedia aims to cover topics that are notable, ones that have already gained significant attention by the world at large and over a period of time.
If biographies of the artists on your list don't already exist in Wikipedia, then they may not have captured the necessary attention to meet Wikipedia's inclusion criteria. If you want to write about Pakistani artists, Category:Pakistani artists and its subcategories contain over 100 such biographies, all of which need improvement. One of the most important things, whether working on new or existing articles, is to use high quality sources, such as books authored by scholars and published by academic presses. --Worldbruce (talk) 01:08, 22 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

07:49:50, 21 July 2019 review of draft by Mideastprofessor

I have been editing articles about spokespeople for Israeli prime ministers. The incoming spokesman to the prime minister is Evan Cohen. In my draft article about him, I cited multiple published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject. In addition, Evan Cohen received significant coverage in Israeli newspapers, which I cited repeatedly. Yet my article was rejected. Why? For not citing multiple published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject. The rejection notice says: "This submission appears to read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia." I do not see how this is the case, given that all biographical details written in the article are taken from reliable, secondary sources. Please give me more specific feedback so that I can improve the quality of this article. Thank you.

I have submitted an article on the Marathi (regional Indian language) film producer. His Movie 'Waakya' was a 'critical hit' movie. I don't know why this article is getting rejected. please tell me what should I have to do, to make this article successful published. Ayushssengar (talk) 16:09, 21 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ayushssengar. The draft has been declined twice and rejected twice because Shah is not notable. The cited sources are a photo (not significant coverage), four copies of a press release containing a quote by him (neither independent, nor significant coverage of him), and two sentences about him (only slightly closer to being significant coverage). Having searched English and Marathi sources, I concur with the other reviewers that no amount of editing can make the draft acceptable for publication. --Worldbruce (talk) 00:10, 22 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Wikipedia I am new user on Wikipedia, I have submitted an article by using the guidelines that you mentioned. Here is my article draft link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Artist_Gill please check and let me know what is missing because Wikipedia has declined my approval request. Please let me know as soon as possible.

GuriKalyan (talk) 17:41, 21 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Gurikalyan. The problem is that the sources do not show that Gill is notable. PTC doesn't mention Gill. YouTube is not a reliable source - anyone can make and upload a video saying anything. Glamtalks is a primary source interview in which Gill talks about Gill with no independent analysis from the interviewer. Novice editors are commonly advised to cite three independent, reliable, secondary sources that contain significant coverage of their subject. The draft cites none that fit that description. --Worldbruce (talk) 23:53, 21 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings, I am a new user and my article was declined by wikipedia. I was directed here to this page for assistance on my article. I would really like some help on how to improve my article to be approved and contribute to wikipedia.KendallDH (talk) 20:26, 21 July 2019 (UTC) KendallDH (talk) 20:26, 21 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

KendallDH As the reviewer said... The topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. Wikipedia requires there to be multiple in-depth coverage in reliable sources. Theroadislong (talk) 20:33, 21 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
