Hi, I was wondering why my article for the eminent German Egyptologist, Dr. Otto Franz Furzmann has been declined? I believe that he was an immensely important figure in the field of Egyptology. He consequently deserves a wikipedia entry.
Any feedback, and/or advice will be appreciated. Thank you.
- Inclusion on Wikipedia has nothing to do with what the subject does or doesn't "deserve" — it begins and ends at whether the article is adequately referenced to reliable source coverage which demonstrates the topic's notability. A person doesn't get to keep an unreferenced article just because some editor asserts that they deserve one — it is entirely possible to write a bad and non-includable article about a person who would be eligible to keep a good one. It's the quality of the references present in the article that make the difference here, not anybody's personal opinions about who does or doesn't "deserve" anything. The beautiful thing about the AFC process, however, is that you still have an opportunity to improve the sourcing. So if better sources are available, then by all means add them so that the article can be reconsidered — but in its current state the article is not good enough yet, and just asserting that he "deserves" an article isn't going to change that.
