Request on 01:41:47, 6 September 2014 for assistance on AfC submission by Rootboi Root

Hi, I got a message saying that my submitted article had plagiarized content. I would like to know how I can find out what part was plagiarized, since I tried my best to avoid that from happening. I contacted the person that reported the mistake, but did not get any answer. I would like to know what I need to fix, change or remove before I resubmit. I spent hours making sure I have all the references and followed all the guide lines, while getting help from the helpdek and help forums. It's very sad to see that after all that, my submission was simply deleted with out proper explanation to why or instructions on how to fix it. Appreciate any type of help I can get to get this article back online. Thank You

Regards, RootBoi

Hello, it looks like Draft:Reggae Rajahs was deleted because it copied large amounts of text directly from the website mentioned at that page (the deletion reason includes the website it was apparently copied from). Because all content on Wikipedia is permitted to be re-used even for commercial purposes, we absolutely cannot have material copied from other websites except where the material explicitly has a license that allows this. Some ways to arrange that are mentioned at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials, but in many cases it is better simply to re-write the material in your own words. Hi thank you so much for the reply. I tried my very best to write all the content in my own words. Couldn't it have been possible to just delete the part that seemed copied, or pointed it out. Could have easily changed that. Is there any way i can find out now what it was, so i can fix it and resubmit it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rootboi Root (talkcontribs) 16:06, 14 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

My article was either ignored or denied and recently was deleted under CSD G13 for 'not having been edited for 6 months'. I just had it undeleted, but there are no comments or requests visible, so I don't know what was wrong (if anything) with the article. If I resubmit it as it is, I worry that CSD G13 will deny it for being unchanged. So I need to know what to change.

As far as I can tell it was neither ignored nor denied. It looks as if you failed somehow to submit it. So please let's get this ball rolling. Submit away! I have not examined the draft and am thus making no comment on its acceptability. Fiddle Faddle 20:37, 6 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I submitted this article and got a reply that i was using copyrighted information. Can someone please tell me what in the article is against the rules? Thanks

@Dirkmysiu: Apparently the content was taken in large part from Yelp, which is considered a copyright violation. Content on Wikipedia has to be original to Wikipedia. Chris Troutman (talk) 19:13, 6 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
