Marion at Woodfork Genealogy (talk) 03:00, 2 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I need to add footnotes/endnotes to my article, but I don't see instructions on how to do that. Can you tell me where I can find that information

I see information for citations but not footnote

@Marion at Woodfork Genealogy: See Help:Footnotes. Chris Troutman (talk) 03:13, 2 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm just wondering why the page was rejected i think it's a good site and i've nothing to do with the company {not promoting} i'm only a amateur stargazer. If it can't be made could one of your editors look into it and may be write a page about it as it has being on a number of papers in Ireland and abroad.

I wonder why you have not actually looked at the reviewer's comment on the draft? It tells you all you need to know. We require references from significant coverage about the entity, and independent of it, and in WP:RS please. See WP:42. This has none. Fiddle Faddle 11:13, 2 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have included what I had hoped was a correct citation to a medical journal - I used the Cite reference to 'journal' and entered all relevant details. The small text appears by the side of the report referred to in the text as the correct medical journal name but when clicked does not redirect the user to the said journal - please can you tell me what i am doing wrong?

Also, I have included special characters for URL's in my text but these appear in the saved article as the full URL - is there a way of this appearing as a smaller icon in the text - again what am I doing wrong here please :(

BaileyBoo (talk) 11:47, 2 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello BaileyBoo. The single reference on the draft Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/The Cure Parkinson's Trust seems to work fine; if I click on the doi number I am taken to a webpage about the "Motor and Cognitive Advantages..." paper, and if I click on the pubmed number, I am taken to a different webpage about the "Motor and Cognitive Advantages..." paper. Was this a problem that you've already resolved? Or maybe it was fixed with this edit. Incidentally, neither page appear to mention the organisation your draft is about, so the reference may not be very useful for proving the notability of your topic under Wikipedia's requirements Wikipedia:VRS.
I cannot see any special characters in URLs in your text. I note that some external links have been removed from your body text by another editor. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 06:25, 3 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I am new to Wikipedia and was just hoping for some help and guidance. I am not sure what is wrong with the article I submitted, but it got denied. I would love to talk to someone.

Here is the article:

Joseph Janus born March 30th, 1969 is the CEO for WeSC-WeAreTheSuperlativeConspiracy, a Swedish clothing brand primarily influenced by skateboarding and snowboarding with distribution across the US as well as in 47 other countries globally. (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) Previously, Janus was formerly the advertising and marketing Senior Vice President of Calvin Klein and Creative Director of Bodhi. (9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,28,29.) While at Calvin Klein, he was responsible for launching new brand extensions in fragrance, fashion and accessories including Calvin Klein Jeans, underwear, handbags and CK One fragrance. Janus also created the luxury handbag line Bodhi, with distribution in top retailers such as Fred Segal, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, Bloomingdales. In addition the Bodhi brand was expanded to include both men’s and Tech collections. (17,18.) Janus is also an accomplished songwriter, CEO and President of Fearless Management and Productions that has been home to musicians such as Ben Jelen. (19,20,21,22,23,24.)

Early Career Joseph Janus has over 20 years of experience working in the fashion industry as a creative and design director. He gained early attention in Los Angeles by reviving the JNCO Jean Company, “During his four-year tenure, he said, the company’s sales soared from $20 million to $300 million.” Janus worked with an “in-house group of illustrators, clothing designers, graffiti artists and promotion experts that serve as an ad hoc ad team to ensure the look and feel of advertising will be anything but traditional.” “The key to success, he notes, is to make a product that helps kids feel good about themselves.” The New York Times, Los Angeles Times and Brand Week Magazine (25) have all recognized Joseph Janus for his contributions to the field. In 1997, Advertising Age Magazine named him “Marketer of the Year. (26).”

Joseph Janus’ success attracted the attention of Designer Calvin Klein himself, who personally recruited Janus to direct the advertising and marketing department where he launched various brand extensions for the brand.

Music Using the same market savvy he developed in the fashion industry, Janus created Fearless Management to manage music artists, assemble groups and produce and write music. His first two records were on Madonna’s Maverick Records. Janus went on to sign singer-songwriter and humanitarian Ben Jelen to Linda Perry’s Custard records, connecting him with respected producers who rarely with new artists. Janus and Jelen collaborated to develop a charity titled “The Ben Jelen Foundation,” to help create a greener earth. Collecting donations from Fiji Water, Altoids and Café Bustello. Their charitable efforts combined will help fund green initiatives around the globe.

@LaurenSullygirl: Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Joseph Janus was deleted because it was a copyright violation. You can't copy text out of other sources; you have to write it in your own words. Most of the sources you're using aren't reliable. You can't just use any webpage as a reference. Your draft also reads very promotionally. Chris Troutman (talk) 16:34, 2 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I am having the hardest time with the infobox on the page I am working on. No matter how much I have messed with it when I click "Show Preview" its showing up still in HTML mode. Is preview capable of showing it as an infobox vs HTML text? If yes, could someone see why mine is not formatting? I have looked through the help desk and mostly it was suggesting the parameters might not be right, but I have checked these several times. Any help would be appreciated!

Catoec (talk) 19:12, 2 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Catoec: You had two too many left square brackets. With coding, you have to be sure every character is exactly where it needs to be. Chris Troutman (talk) 19:22, 2 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Can you explain further about the "two too many left square brackets"? I can't find which ones need to be taken out. I took out the ones at the very beginning but that didn't change it at all...

@Catoec: I already fixed it as seen here. They were before "file" when you're calling for the logo image. Thumbnails of images only have two square brackets before and two after. You had four before. Chris Troutman (talk) 01:06, 3 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

My biography on Lalita Krisha got refused and I'd like to inquire why. She is an acclaimed filmmaker and has produced many documentaries. I have supplied names of DVDs she made which are shown on IMDB as well on YouTube and other sources.

Please review! I look forward to an answer. La.Pasionaria14 (talk) 19:55, 2 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest you look at the draft, where it tells you that you need references. You have also provided a load of non biographical material. Fiddle Faddle 21:46, 2 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Dr Sanjay Gaikwad:   Declined Your draft has been repeatedly declined for being essay-like. It reads very much like your own analysis of the subject. I declined your draft because it's entirely unreferenced. I'd also like to point out that an article about Lawsone already exists. You should edit that rather than attempt a new article.
