9543lubec (talk) 06:48, 11 November 2014 (UTC) i am trying to figure out why the article i wrote was declined about minor league baseball player jeff anderson. i am afraid i am not to adept at doing this sort of thing so i am rather stuck. there are sources for him in minor league baseball pages and articles, sprint training mlb articles, baseball drafts and college sources. can you please help[reply]

It was declined because you haven't provided references to any of these sources- we are not psychic! Also to be included Baseball players need to meet the inclusion guidelines at WP:BASE/N. I am not familiar with baseball so I don't know whether the league he played in qualifies him for a wikipedia article. Rankersbo (talk) 11:15, 11 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This article is only the translation of the german article https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suma_R%C3%BChrtechnik Is it needed to be reviewed? Because all references are reviewed and accepted in the german wikipedia. Lilili00 (talk) 09:48, 11 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It's not totally translated- e.g. you've left the false anglicism "weblinks" in. German wikipedia may have different standards, but I'll have a look and see if I can approve it. You haven't given your article a title, how would we refer to SUMA in English? Rankersbo (talk) 11:10, 11 November 2014 (UTC) (I live near Germany, in Saarland)[reply]

The title will also be SUMA Rührtechnik GmbH because it is the name of the company. I will go over the standards in this wiki and also over my article next week. thanks for your help. Lilili00 (talk) 08:42, 12 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello everyone, I am writing about my article, Romantic Warriors - A Progressive Music Saga. Though the article was recently accepted, it does not show up in searches, and therefore appears to be "orphaned" because it is not possible to link it to other related articles. In fact, in the very closely related article Romantic Warriors II: A Progressive Music Saga About Rock in Opposition, the title of the film shows in red and not in blue. As it was my first submission to Wikipedia, I don't know what may have happened, but I hope the issue can be solved as soon as possible. Thanks in advance for your help! The article is at Romantic Warriors - A Progressive Music Saga. You can create a wikilink to it from any Wikipedia page or article like this: [[Romantic Warriors - A Progressive Music Saga]]. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 11:28, 13 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Manouela (talk · contribs) (TB) Draft:Andreas Dermitzakis (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)

Hello,

I contributed https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Andreas_Dermitzakis#References and it was rejected. I have added references from UEFA.com and other official websites.

I am really not sure what I am doing wrong. My references are:

Can you review and point me to the right direction? He is an athlete and has actively participated in a major amateur competition.

I am just wondering why my page got declined. I cited just about everything I could get my hands on. Most of what I cited were awards that the publishing company/songwriters had won over the years, all of which I cited with links to Billboard, Music Row, ASCAP, BMI, and other reliable sources. I'm not sure why I was declined again. What about those sources is unreliable? Johnp37212 (talk) 20:33, 11 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Johnp37212: Please read the comments on the draft! Your draft reads promotionally. Further, all the sources you cite are problematic. In some cases you use Facebook, which isn't a reliable source or the label's website, which isn't independent. The other sources cited aren't about the label, but the artists or songs themselves. Articles that interview or quote someone at the label are also problematic because Wikipedia can't rely on the subject for information about same. Even if your draft were accepted it would be immediately tagged for its lack of neutrality and/or deleted for a lack of notability. Wikipedia is not here to advertise so whatever you're trying to accomplish with this draft is not going to work. Chris Troutman (talk) 18:17, 17 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

As the second time around at being rejected, I am confused as to why my article was rejected? The notability in the field of role-playing games is well established, with more than 30 years of publishing books and manuals. Far less people are listed in Wikipedia such as Nat Russo, a gentlemen with 1 book published. I have provided countless books, articles, and references testifying that in the field of game design and even in publishing novels is very well established. There are certainly other examples of people in wikipedia with far less credentials as Troy Christensen. Please help me figure out why the article was rejected?

ShalimarTroy (talk) 22:01, 11 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@ShalimarTroy: - Wikipedia notability guidelines (WP:GNG) state that if a subject has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, (that person) is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article. Christensen's article needs reliable sources stating his notability. The article as written is original research - it rests his notability on his own website and links to things he has done and reviews that do not mention him. What is needed is an independent source stating that 'Christensen has had an impact' in his field. In other words, a person isn't notable because "Wikipedia says so". OTHER PUBLISHED SOURCES have to say a person is notable then Wikipedia 'reflects' that. Someone can write just 'one book' (To Kill a Mockingbird, for example) but if that book is stated to have had a notable impact then yes, the writer and the book will both end up with articles. There was no such reference to find in my search so I rejected the article. Christensen IS mentioned in List of Villains and Vigilantes books, but Wikipedia does not use itself as a reference.EBY (talk) 23:05, 11 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

did the editor reference the numerous citations. I have a number of books, periodicals, and newspaper articles all stating that the games were influential? How can someone who self-publishes one book on Amazon be accepted, such as Nat Russo, yet someone who has been published dozen of times by the top four game manufacturers is considered unworthy of notability?

@ShalimarTroy:, regarding Russo, it really does no good to say "what about X article? Standard reply is WP:Other stuff exists; we aren't going to approve a unready article simply because worse articles exist. If the Russo article doesn't meet Wikipedia standards, feel free to propose it for deletion, but please desist from using its existence as an argument in support of your article.
Regarding the sources you've listed, if you think the Declining editor did not see or did not properly evaluate them, I encourage you to contact that editor directly and ask how the sources were unsatisfactory. MatthewVanitas (talk) 22:10, 13 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
