Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/syedbukhari0092the article I wrote is about the biography of a sufi (muslim saint) on him no one has done any work on his biography, I know his biography because I am related to him, I have no references and evidences for it, so what should I do to avoid my article from rejection?

If no published sources about this person exist an article can never be accepted. How does a person become a sufi, surely written records of such a designation must exist? Keep in mind that references do not need to be in English, any language is acceptable. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 18:51, 9 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there

Thanks to the latest editor who reviewed this article.

The latest rejection cites 'still not seeing a significant claim for Filmmaker' notability which is the best claim being made'. The link to the British Film Institute names over 40 films produced or directed by him. The article itself refers to many of these, some award winning, including 'Walter' the first film shown on the UK's Channel 4, a film he produced starring Ian McKellen and directed by Stephen Frears.

if further referencing is required I have some scanned articles referred to in the references, however I do not know how to add them to an embedded reference list.

Can anyone give me advice as to how I may further improve the article?

Notability isn't measured in number of films, or who you worked with, it's by the impact those films have have had. That said I think Walter is a notable film. One thing the article suffers from is WP:CITEKILL maybe there is too much detail and too many references. Do any of the references mention Evans only in passing? Just checking to see if I did this properly.

Hi, I just finished work on a new submission on Monica Toft, an academic at Oxford University. This is the first page that I do and I an not sure if I submitted it properly for review. Could you please confirm this?

Best wishes,

Yes, it is submitted correctly. There is a box at the bottom of the page that says "Review waiting". --Anon126 (talk - contribs) 23:10, 9 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Chevalier de Saint-Georges. How to cite sources from libraries and/or archives

edit

Hi,

I need urgent help because, as hard as I try, nowhere in Wiki's do I find instructions for citing original 18th century documents in libraries or national archives, mentioned. Thank you in advance. PS I don't want these archives to be confused with internet archives. Dsteveb (talk) 17:07, 8 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi folks

My "Article for Creation" is now awaiting review, which I see could take 3 weeks. I was aiming for a birthday 2 weeks from now but totally understand. Is it possible in the meantime to view the preview that I saw before I submitted the article? I don't see any way to get back to that. Im in the process of submitting an article to wikipedia , it was rejected twice and we have made the changes required and suggested. However I'm surprised that this is publicly accessible

http://wiki.verkata.com/en/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Al_Sheikha_Sheikha_Bint_Hamad_Bin_Jassem_Bin_Hamad_Bin_Abdullah_Al_Thani

Please can you explain why this link is public and can it be made private please.

I don't know why this article is available publicly. Please email me urgent — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sheikha bint hamad (talkcontribs) 21:30, 8 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sheikha bint hamad. Every page on Wikipedia is publicly accessible. There is no such thing as a "private" page. Also, the link you gave is to a Wikipedia mirror site (a site that copies Wikipedia's content). We have no control over what they copy. --NeilN talk to me 22:23, 8 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
