Declined article

edit

I created a page on an edit page and then clicked submit. It took me to another page that said "Just hit save at the bottom and don't change anything." So I did but that edit box did not include my article and I guess it was submitted as blank. Is that why it was declined? and how do I find the article that I "saved" many times becasue I can't find it now. Help. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Plevota (talkcontribs) 00:19, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You can find all the articles you've edited by clicking "Contributions" in the upper-right corner or by going to Special:Contributions/Plevota. In your case the article is User:Plevota/Phil LeVota. Yes, it was declined because it was blank. If you wish to submit it again, you may add the code {{subst:submit}} to the top of the article. --Anon126 (talk - contribs) 23:03, 9 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I am WhitewolfamurWhitewolfamur (talk) 03:19, 7 February 2014 (UTC). I submitted an article "F. Gonzalez-Crussi" to Wikipedia, and at first it was rejected on Nov. 4, 2013. I revised it according to the editor's (Sarah Stierch) instructions and re-submitted it on Nov. 5. I have not heard any response since. Would you please let me know the status of this article? Thank you. Whitewolfamur (talk) 03:19, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If you would like the page to be reviewed again, please click the blue Resubmit button, or add {{subst:submit}} at the top of the page. It may take a few weeks for someone to get round to reviewing the page again after you have done this. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 10:40, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

My article keeps getting declined. The most recent decline was due to copyright material. If I delete the piece of material that was copyrighted, will that suffice? I really need to get the page up. It is a legitimate community service organization that I am creating the page for and I just want to know how I can do this right. Thank you for any and all advice. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Trek 1802 (talkcontribs) 05:39, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Which page are you talking about? Can you give us a link to it?
In general, legitimate community organisations may not receive much coverage in independent reliable sources, and thus it is not appropriate to create Wikipedia articles about them. Illegitimate community organisations may receive significantly more coverage - due to their controversial nature - thus it is easier to create Wikipedia articles about them.
I note that an editor advised you to read Wikipedia:Your first article. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 10:37, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please help me to create the page of Sandip Goswami who is poet , writer and philosopher ( Bengali Indian ). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Soukarsha Dutta (talkcontribs) 07:26, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Sandip Goswami was declined for the reasons given in the pink box at the top of that page. You would benefit from reading Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners, and I would also note that Facebook and poemhunter.com are not considered reliable sources and thus are of no use in proving the notability of an individual. I have cleaned up links as required on my first submission that was rejected, now I need assistance to have the article published

edit

My article has been rejected twice now and I haven't find out why specifically and which links are causing the issues.

Could you assist in this please. Seancombs84 (talk) 08:41, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The issue is not with links, but with inline citations (the <ref></ref> tags that create the little blue numbers). Wikipedia has a policy on articles about living people, which states that all information "challenged or likely to be challenged," positive or negative, about a living person, must have an inline citation to support it. To fix this, you will have to add more of those <ref></ref> tags for information in the article. --Anon126 (talk - contribs) 22:13, 9 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Tfitzp (talk) 13:50, 7 February 2014 (UTC)   Copy of article removed, please ask a question, don't just post the text of your article here[reply]

Stripboard already exists, "Veroboard" is simply one brand of stripboard. Rather improve the existing page. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 18:38, 9 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

My article on Severn House Publishers is under review. Meanwhile, I would like to continue editing it.

I have submitted a request regarding the uploading of a file, in particular the company logo. I submitted this request under the heading 'Severn House Publishers logo', and there is now a message saying that the upload request has been accepted.

However, I cannot work out how to upload the jpeg and then attach it to the article. I understand that somewhere there are instructions on how to do this, but this is my first wikipedia edit/submission, and I do not seem to be taking the correct steps. Please could you advise?

Many thanks,

James Buckhalter (talk) 13:59, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Feel free to continue editing the submission while it awaits review.
The company logo currently appears in the infobox of the submission. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 13:04, 10 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Sir/Madam - I had created a page for Chandramathi the famous writer in Kerala. I notice that on top of her page it says this is an ophan as no articles link to it. I have few links which I wish to add. Kindly guide me how to do it please.Panank (talk) 14:27, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The guidance you need is at Help:REFB. You can modify the article by going to Chandrika_Balan and clicking the edit tab. Rankersbo (talk) 14:48, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry the link to the guidance should be Help:Referencing for beginners. Rankersbo (talk) 19:23, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I am having trouble with notability. The article references several independent publications that reference the subject. Please help as I am not sure what would be more sufficient than the New York Times. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Uscmeche (talkcontribs) 19:11, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The NYT reference simply lists one her books. Notability requires substantial discussion about the person, not merely listings or passing mentions. It may be easier to write an acceptable article about the book than about her. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 18:47, 9 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

M'y article was déclines and i want to know why? Patrick — Preceding unsigned comment added by Patrozon (talkcontribs) 19:20, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I assume you are referring to Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Luc Petit. Your article was declined for the reason given in the box at the top of the page. In short, you have not cited reliable sources, that is, those "with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy." The box has links to the pages called referencing for beginners and citing sources; see those for more information on how to cite sources. (I personally recommend the introduction to referencing as a quick tutorial.) --Anon126 (talk - contribs) 23:08, 9 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'd like to submit the Sambazon article for review. I've clicked Save Page a million times but I don't think it took. Can you help?

Thank you! Madeleine — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nataliekeiko (talkcontribs) 22:54, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

More importantly 90% of your article isn't visible. There is a problem with the formatting of your references, you have loads of opening <ref> tags but no closing </ref> ones. Hence everything after the first reference is hidden. Rankersbo (talk) 23:12, 7 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
