Panchobruh (talk) 02:38, 4 December 2014 (UTC) How do you put a picture of the person thats page you are editing on the page?[reply]

Hello Panchobruh! If you own the copyright and are willing to release it under WP:Creative Commons (which means other people are allowed to use that image for a wide variety of purposes), you can upload it to Wikimedia Commons. See WP:Images for instructions. If you do not own the copyright, you would have to get the clear copyright owner to release it under WP:OTRS. In any case, I'd focus on getting the article published first, and only after worry about the image. MatthewVanitas (talk) 15:02, 4 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Note, your current draft is not ready to publish. You really need to read WP:Notability (music), which describes the guideline that musician articles must meet. You have not provided any of the sourcing the guideline requires, so please read it. MatthewVanitas (talk) 15:04, 4 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Re Draft:Protected area downgrading, downsizing, and degazettement

I am trying to establish a page for "PADDD", an acronym that describes the phenomenon of "protected area downgrading, downsizing, and degazettement" -- the legal processes that change the laws governing national parks and other protected areas by tempering regulations, shrinking boundaries, or eliminating protection entirely. PADDD is an emerging issue of huge significance within the environmental community; it has been recognized and referenced in more than 100 scientific articles, as well as popular media. I had hoped to jumpstart a Wikipedia page on PADDD that others could contribute to and develop further, but my very basic entry for "PADDD" - citing the seminal works that first identified and described the phenomenon -- was rejected. I can't figure out how to make the necessary edits to develop a proper and comprehensive Wikipedia entry (I'm not sufficiently computer-savvy) and I'm too close to the issue to do so (according to Wikipedia's official guidance). Accordingly, I'm hoping that someone reading this can take my lame attempt at a Wikipedia entry and flesh it out to meet Wikipedia's standards. To assist in this process, I am including a series of references that describe the phenomenon in detail. Thank you in advance; I regret that I'm unable to develop the page myself.

DCpolarbear, I've gone ahead and approved your draft since it does appear that more than just one researcher uses this term, which was the Decliner's concern (that they felt you had not sufficiently shown the term was in wide use). What I would recommend is that you take a couple of the best references you list here, which make substantial use of the term (and not just in connection to Mascia) and add a couple of them to your new article just to strengthen it a little. I wish to add a photo of the subject of this page which I own the copyright. How do I do that? Pappyd (talk) 13:55, 4 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Pappyd! If you own the copyright and are willing to release it under WP:Creative Commons (which means other people are allowed to use that image for a wide variety of purposes), you can upload it to Wikimedia Commons. See WP:Images for instructions. MatthewVanitas (talk) 14:55, 4 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Pappy, did you see the previous reply you got on this page? MatthewVanitas (talk) 15:02, 4 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

:@Pappyd: Follow the instructions you were given at Wikipedia:Requests for permissions/Confirmed#User:Pappyd and upload this image to Wikipedia Commons. Once it is uploaded there, you can add it to your draft. --Ahecht (TALK

Hello, I would like some feedback on why this article had been rejected for the second time. Please indicate which passages are considered copyrighted material in the text of the article. Thanks for your help. BarryM70 (talk) 16:31, 4 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@BarryM70: any passages that you copied and pasted from another source are considered copyrighted material. Since the page you linked to was a talk page without a corresponding article, I moved it to Draft:Thycotic Software. --Ahecht (TALK
