edit

Hi. I recently submitted an article on Composer/flutist Linda J. Chase and it was rejected. Please let me know how I might make it suitable for inclusion...thanks!

As the reviewer said, you should add inline citations and footnotes to clarify which of your sources supports a given statement. You may want to have a look at WP:Referencing for beginners on how to easily create nicely-formatted footnotes. Huon (talk) 23:57, 19 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This article has been previously rejected under G11, unambiguous advertising. I have submitted a version I believe to be verifiable and neutrally objective. It is small, but I merely want a starting point that can be accepted and expanded upon. If you have any advice on how to better improve the article, please let me know.

Hello, Slanders13. Even to have a starter article (called a "stub"), a company has to have several references to independent sources such as news reports, business magazine articles, product reviews, etc. You have one such source, and it contains one fact about the company. This is a start, but you should try to find two or three more, depending on how much is included about the company in each one. You've done a pretty good job of making the article not sound like an advertisement. —Anne Delong (talk) 03:34, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I have been researching this company and wanted to try to share my findings. How does it look? Thank you. RDPW75 (talk) 08:44, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I see references to The Times, BBC News and The Daily Telegraph, so your submission has a good chance of describing a notable company and passing. However, there is a little housekeeping that I would recommend doing first - firstly there appears to be a duplicate Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Oak Furniture Land that should be merged with this submission, and secondly a number of your references are duplicate. You can give a name to references and reuse them elsewhere in an article - I've done the Telegraph source as an example. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:47, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, thank you for your feedback. Can you tell me how to merge with the other submission? — Preceding unsigned comment added by RDPW75 (talkcontribs) 13:27, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello.

Do you have an estimation of when the pages:

Innovate7

Will be reviewed/published?

Thank you for your help.

I have declined both submissions and left comments in each for the reasons why. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:42, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

To whom it may concern I was wondering why this article has been declined- is it due to the sources? if so what areas can I improve on — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.175.177.157 (talk) 09:10, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The comment left by MatthewVanitas below the "Submission declined" box explains why it was declined. To be more specific, IMDB is generally considered an unreliable source as anyone anywhere can change information it. The other sources also seem to be self-published, or directory entries that confirm von Reybekiel exists, but not that he's notable enough for an article on Wikipedia. What we need are articles by reputable organisations, such as national newspapers, that cover von Reybekiel in depth. The Northern Heights International Short Film Festival isn't really in the same league as Cannes, after all. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:36, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How can I fix my article Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Len Berzerk (Rapper) and get it approved for the data base?Gpisin (talk) 13:35, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article cites few sources that are generally considered acceptable. YouTube is generally not considered a reliable source, and is frequently a copyright violation, so it best avoided. Discogs is a self-published source, meaning anyone can add anything to it, so it can't be trusted as being correct. The Channel 5 Belize sources seem to be the best sources you have - try and see if there's anything more. Unfortunately, we get so many garage band articles on Wikipedia, that the level of notability you need to clear is quite significant, usually amounting to chart success or at least major national press coverage. Hi,

Post the rejection of a article (Vimal Shah) and kind suggestions from Ann I added citations and then it is still in my sandbox with no link for resubmission. I feel stupid... but how do I resubmit my article???

Your article is currently correctly submitted. One thing to fix, though: you should add a "references" section by typing ==References== and then add a reference list by typing {{reflist}} below that. Hope this helps! Howicus (Did I mess up?) 14:27, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, following the advice given here, I have just tried to merge two articles with the same name Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Oak_Furniture_Land_(2) and Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Oak_Furniture_Land. Can anyone tell me how they look? Have I done it correctly? — Preceding unsigned comment added by RDPW75 (talkcontribs) 15:38, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Looks fine to me, all merged correctly. Howicus (Did I mess up?) 18:27, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

I am having trouble getting approval for a Wikipedia page. It keeps being deemed an advertisement and I'm not sure why. I have stripped the article to its barebones to avoid this problem. I have followed the formatting of other competitors in the field and those were presumably approved. Wikipedia talk: Articles for creation/Connotate, Inc.

Please let me know what I need to do to get this posted.

Sincerely, Alexandra Patchen 50.75.252.10 (talk) 16:17, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You should begin by finding reliable sources that are independent of the company, such as newspaper articles or reviews in reputable trade magazines (not press releases or interviews with company officials - those are not independent). Then you should summarize in your own words what facts those sources report about the company and cite the sources for those facts. Regarding the competitors, their articles might predate the current standards, or they might have slipped through the cracks. Other problematic articles may exist, but that's no excuse to create more. If you're looking for examples of how articles should look, please have a look at our Good Articles or, better yet, our Featured Articles. Those are among the best Wikipedia has to offer. Just wondering why this was rejected. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shamcgu (talkcontribs) 16:57, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Shamcgu! Did you read the specific listing of what the issue is inside the pink Decline box? Let us know if there is some part of that which you would like clarification on. MatthewVanitas (talk) 19:53, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Rekoncyle

Hello MatthewVanitas It looks like the article was rejected because tehy weren't notable but they charted on a national chart as references in the article. Am I missing something else?

Shamcgu (talk) 07:55, 4 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Matthew Vanitas,

Thank you for reviewing my article on Dusty White.

It was declined. I would like to address the questions you have so I can continue working on the article

Many thanks, ClareClareLight (talk) 17:25, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, part of the problem is that you had like 3 copies of the same article floating around. Please stick to only the version Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Dusty White, and let the others be deleted in cleanup. It is very confusing to reviewers to have multiple variants of the draft.
That said, the main draft is also not ready to go, because you have not demonstrated WP:Notability. That is, you have not shown that serious, objective media, academia, or community authorities have seen fit to write about White. Your references appear to just be tarot/astrology advocacy/enthusiast sites, so you're not providing sufficiently objective coverage of his career and impact. Hello. Thank you for reviewing my article on Romemu. It was declined. I would like to address the questions you have so I can continue working on the article Many thanks

Greetings, do you have a specific question for us? Have you read the text in the pink box which explicitly states what the article was declined for, links to pages which explain specific requirements, and a personalised note to you below that? If you've read those comments and still have a question, please ask it here. MatthewVanitas (talk) 20:19, 18 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
