We have our first top-spot reprisal of this year, with second and third being taken by a certain high-profile lawsuit.

Rank Article Class Views Image Notes/about
1 K.G.F: Chapter 2   3,443,321   India's latest box-office hit remains at the top spot. It follows the leader of an Indian crime syndicate operating out of the Kolar Gold Fields fighting rivals for supremacy as well as the Indian government. It has received mixed reviews but did very well at the box office and became the highest-grossing Kannada film of all time. It is also quickly ascending #5, currently positioned at lucky number 7. Unsurprisingly, a sequel is in development.
2 Amber Heard   2,964,855   Depp is currently suing Heard over an op-ed she wrote in the Washington Post in which she detailed her experience with the culture around victims of abuse. In the op-ed, Heard alleged Depp had been abusive throughout their relationship; Depp then sued Heard, alleging he was actually the victim of abuse. Given Heard's accusations were ruled to be "substantially true" in a previous libel case, I don't particularly fancy his chances. Whatever happens, it's in the news (and the Report), and will probably continue to be until the verdict comes out.
3 Johnny Depp   2,824,692
4 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine   1,336,881   Russia has launched a slow offensive through eastern Ukraine. The situation in Mariupol continues to worsen. The war continues to be awful.
5 List of highest-grossing Indian films   1,296,418   With both #1 and #11 taking runs at the record books, it's hardly surprising this list is here.
6 The Batman (film)   1,167,044   HBO Max released the biggest hit of 2022 so far, with a box office of $758 million worldwide. It has the Riddler and lasts three hours, but thankfully not by taking a page from Batman: Arkham and having Batman collect question mark-shaped trophies around Gotham.
7 Cristiano Ronaldo   1,058,195   An adequate number, there. One of football's biggest names became a father again, and for the second time of twins - but in a sad note one died in childbirth. Still he was back on the pitch on Saturday and scored his 100th Premier League goal, leading even the opposing team's supporters to applaud CR7.
8 Elon Musk   979,969   His bid for Twitter is still in the news. Also in the news over leaked text messages where he argues with Bill Gates who reportedly holds a large short position against Tesla stock.
9 John Wayne Gacy   896,843   This prolific serial murderer was the original killer clown, murdering at least 33 people in Chicago in the 1970s. Why is such a horrific individual who was executed 28 years ago on the list, you say? Why, because of Netflix of course! Or, more specifically, Conversations with a Killer: The John Wayne Gacy Tapes.

Incidentally, this photo is a crop of him with Rosalynn Carter.

10 Deaths in 2022   852,550   Eleanor Rigby
Died in the church and was buried along with her name
Nobody came
Father McKenzie
Wiping the dirt from his hands as he walks from the grave
No-one was saved...
11 RRR (film)   805,052   Still on the list is the hit movie about Indian revolutionaries that has beaten all but two movies on #5. S. S. Rajamouli (pictured) now holds two of the top three spots on that list, as he already held second place for Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.
12 Yash (actor)   713,181   The star of #1, in which he plays an assassin and gold kingpin called Rocky. His performance received widespread praise.
13 Anatomy of a Scandal   704,183   This Netflix adaptation of a thriller novel by Sarah Vaughan premiered on 15 April.
14 K.G.F: Chapter 1   687,295   #1's 2018 predecessor, both in the series and as the highest-grossing Kannada film. K.G.F. 1 follows Rocky's ascent to power in the goldfields.
15 Moon Knight (TV series)   678,600   Oscar Isaac's multiple personality mercenary superhero continues to hit Disney+ every week.
16 Lily-Rose Depp   666,707
The lawsuit (#2, #3) has brought more attention to the daughter of #3, who followed him into acting.
17 John Darwin disappearance case   658,766   More true crime, not from a streaming service (for once), but from British TV. Darwin and his wife faked his death in a 2002 canoeing accident for life insurance money. They were eventually caught after five years, and are now depicted in an ITV drama.
18 Vanessa Paradis   652,662
#3 being sued by an ex-wife brings attention to #2's predecessor, a French actress-singer to whom Depp was married for 14 years, with two children (#16 and Jack Depp).
19 Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore   628,250   The second weekend of the latest in J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World was so steep it fell behind Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and The Bad Guys, raising jokes about how the once-mighty Harry Potter franchise was now being defeated by furries. Remains to be seen if the financial performance of The Secrets of Dumbledore makes it be the end of this spin-off series (if so, at least the film has a fairly definite conclusion rather than an open ending that needs a sequel to complete).
20 Beast (2022 Indian film)   621,831   All three Indian films from last week are still here. Beast, a Tamil-language action film starring Vijay, isn't on #5, but is still doing well despite an underwhelming critical reception.
21 Ezra Miller   580,496   #3 was removed from #19, yet controversy still hit one of its stars, who has gotten arrested in Hawaii for disorderly conduct and assault. Wonder if this will have an impact in Miller's own superhero movie due for next year, The Flash.
22 Sienna Miller   518,259
The star of #13, not related to the above (but she was married to his #19 co-star Jude Law).
23 Everything Everywhere All at Once   490,003   An unorthodox science-fiction action film where Michelle Yeoh interacts with parallel versions of herself.
24 Thor: Love and Thunder   483,478   While lots of speculation is being raised regarding Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Marvel is already hyping the following MCU movie, with a trailer that even reveals Thor's beau Jane Foster becoming the Goddess of Thunder.
25 Tyson Fury   480,772   This week, Fury reclaimed the WBC heavyweight championship after defeating Dillian Whyte.
