BAE Systems is a British multinational aerospace, defence and information security company, based in London, England. It is the largest defence contractor in Europe and the seventh-largest in the world. Its largest operations are in the United Kingdom and in the United States, where it is one of the six largest suppliers to the US Department of Defense. Other major markets include Saudi Arabia, Australia, Canada, Japan, India and Turkey. The company was formed in 1999 by the merger of Marconi Electronic Systems with the defence arm of the General Electric Company and British Aerospace. BAE has made a number of acquisitions, most notably of United Defense and Armor Holdings and has sold its shares in Airbus. Oppose I think it would be in rather bad taste to present this as our best work, etc., on the main page at this time. I assume the reasons are obvious (the article even notes the controversy). At a time when arms sales to Israel are under the microscope—or rather, of a higher profile than they have been for some time—I don't think it's necessary that we add even more Israel-Palestine material to the page, and realistically we could look pretty tone deaf/purblind. There is after all, no deadline, and this is also the article's second rodeo. I assume we have an article available that's never been shown? SerialNumber54129 18:17, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with SN and am not going to run this for November. While usually considering real life controversies to be of little relevance to Wikipedia I think that this is a can of worms we could poke a stick at another day.
