Template:Wanamaker Athletic Award (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)

Non-notable award. Eagles 24/7 (C) 19:02, 20 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete Even if the award was notable, the template attempts to join unrelated sports teams and individuals on the basis of a non-defining attribute. The purpose of a navbox is navigation, and this offers little realistic navigational value. Resolute 18:44, 21 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • KEEP The criticism above is written by a Sports fan who is ignorant of the City of Philadelphia's history of Athletic Champions. Being honored by the Wanamaker award is indeed a "notable" achievement even if it is just a Regional Award. Every team and Athlete named is uniquely related as a part of the fabric of Philadelphia athletics. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.164.118.28 (talk) 08:11, 23 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - The award itself is not sufficiently notable to sustain an article. Even if it were, I agree with Reso that this offers little navigational value, and its addition to articles would amount to navbox clutter. -- Whpq (talk) 14:17, 23 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Zipcodezoo/Plants (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)
Template:Zipcodezoo/Animals (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)

Zipcodezoo is a terrible reference and should be avoided as an external link. It is full of errors and could never be considered a reliable source. As an external link, it fails WP:EL, specifically WP:ELNO #1 as most entries in Zipcodezoo are (if correct) little more than an aggregation of other resources. For example, Conophytum elegans, the Zipcodezoo entry contains a brief overview of the family it belongs to (lifted from the reliable source eFloras), an extremely outdated classification, info on the author of the species name that could be better found in other reputable databases like IPNI, a list of species in the genus (often grossly incorrect by inclusion of synonyms), and links to other sources. We should not be encouraging linking to this site by having this template. Rkitko (talk) 18:18, 20 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Simple if (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)

Unused, why is this needed? Sfan00 IMG (talk) 14:28, 20 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It seems to be used exclusively in the author's sandbox / vanity page (which, if it remains said user's sole contribution, will probably end up going to MfD anyway). Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward) (talk) 15:00, 20 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Question – can somebody please explain what this template is supposed to do, and how to use it? Even though the template is simple, and I could probably figure it out if I were not so busy, the example given in the doc page is not sufficient for those who have no knowledge of the template language. Bwrs (talk) 22:02, 20 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't do anything that the standard #if parser function doesn't do. It's completely superfluous. Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward) (talk) 23:36, 20 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
