Template:Infobox rugby league super league biography (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)

Reason Number 2: Redundant. This new one was just copied and pasted from {{Infobox rugby league biography}} with fields added that were already proposed (and defeated through consensus) in past discussion by a serial sock puppet user. Jeff79 (talk) 22:01, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • KEEP I can't be held responsible for other users. I have added notes for usage on the talk page, chiefly being the squad numbers showing on the infobox, as they don't show on the other variant. Lando09 (talk) 22:09, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - redundant, huge. User attempting to circumvent consensus after failing to get his own way in previous discussion.  florrie  01:30, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - Super League players can use the rugby league biography template just like all other league players. Mattlore (talk) 05:56, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - Adequate infobox already exists, thus making this redundant. GW(talk) 09:31, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

-Looking to create a discussion on the matter, but don't know where to put it. This is for the Super League in Europe, not the one in Australia in the mid 90s if that is the confusion. Just looking to get our squad numbers displayed, as on the other variant they don't appear to display, even if you add the line in. Lando09 (talk) 11:00, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

May be moving this to infobox european rugby league biography or infobox northern hemisphere rugby league biography to better suit all those players with squad numbers, obviously not for NRL players, who are not given squad numbers at this time. Lando09 (talk) 13:37, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Comment If it is important to the article, add it to the text, with a reliable source. There's nothing to stop you doing that - as you know.  florrie  23:16, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - Adequate template exists already. A squad number is pretty meaningless by itself; better to mention it in the text of the article where more context can be given. LunarLander // talk // 17:38, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
My point is that it would look a little peculiar to add to every northern hemisphere player "player x will wear the number 19 jersey for the 2009 season", as you say with the reliable source. My alternative is seen here with [1],[2], [3], [4] and [5] amongst thousands of others all with the number and team shown in the infobox. Moved to better suit the whole of the game in the northern hemisphere, and to avoid confusion with the now defunct Australian Super League and to quell any potential angst over the two hemispheres; this would only only be applicable for those who do have squad numbers, ie the Northern Hemisphere, thus leaving the NRL with no squad numbers to be added to their infoboxes. Lando09 (talk) 17:54, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You have an argument for the inclusion of one piece of data but it needs to be made convincingly on the existing template, not by-passed by starting your own. LunarLander // talk // 18:27, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Spot on, LunarLander.--Jeff79 (talk) 23:44, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • A bot should be able to convert the pages. GiantSnowman 10:54, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment And what is this and this? Canvassing by stirring the pot on other projects with claims that are blatantly untrue? ...movement to remove squad numbers and current teams from sports infoboxes...  florrie  02:24, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with your use of the question mark there fella. Cheers man I will now bring this up at the correct project at the rugby league one. Lando09 (talk) 17:29, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Redundant with {{quote box}}. Single use. Locos epraix ~ Beastepraix 21:17, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Only one transclusion, and redundant to a template with thousands of transclusions. Replace the one instance and be done with it. --RL0919 (talk) 00:27, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Fictional rail insert (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)

Template not used in article namespace, and succession boxes should not be used for fictional material (see Wikipedia:Manual of Style (writing about fiction)#Infoboxes and succession boxes) Hertzsprung (talk) 16:36, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete. Unused and seemingly abandoned. --RL0919 (talk) 19:18, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete - seems like it's designed for the succession boxes used on real railways, which in this context would be in-universe. 81.110.104.91 (talk) 16:38, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Lists of U.S. county name etymologies (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages)

After this AfD, it seems consensus was to redirect all the states in this template to their respective "List of Counties in Foo" articles (which I and a few others have done). I now propose deleting this template, as it is no longer useful.  JUJUTACULAR | (TALK)  15:10, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Agree. This template has outlived its purpose. Delete as maintenance action. --Orlady (talk) 15:55, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
