How is phenomenology different from psychology?

edit

Given that they both seem to study consciousness, what is the difference between them? Semoniole (talk) 00:10, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Find and read the type of Phenomenology that you want, and also read Psychology. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots00:25, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I mean phenomenology in the philosophical sense — Preceding unsigned comment added by Semoniole (talkcontribs) 00:37, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

So, Phenomenology (philosophy)? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots01:00, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You might find this website somewhat helpful. Omidinist (talk) 07:31, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Psychology is generally practised as a scientific discipline. Phenomenology, a philosophical approach focussing on the description and classification of subjective experience, falls outside the realm of science. It does not produce falsifiable theories.  --Lambiam 20:02, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Besides which, according to Monty Python, Heidegger was a boozy beggar. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots20:42, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Financial system of the United States

edit

Why isn't there an article on the financial system of the United States? Sources say that the economy of the United States should not be considered synonymous. Viriditas (talk) 23:40, 28 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Banking in the United States covers part of it, at least. On the other hand, Financial services in the United States is mostly useless. Clarityfiend (talk) 02:19, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There isn't an article because no one has yet written it, perhaps because there is no one "financial system" (whatever you mean by that) specific to the United States. If you think there ought to be such an article, by all means find reliable sources and write one. Shantavira|feed me 09:49, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm just noticing that we have Financial system in Australia, Finance system in Azerbaijan, Financial system in Bangladesh, and Japanese financial system. There might be more. Viriditas (talk) 10:44, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you have reliable sources, feel free to write that article yourself. Most of the time the answer to the question "Why isn't X in Wikipedia, when I think it should be" can be answered one of two ways either 1) No one wrote it yet or 2) it actually doesn't belong. There are no other possible answers. --Jayron32 15:19, 31 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
