Expansion of the Roman Empire

Where are Arbor, Mismir, and Rima?

According to The Cambrian News and Welsh Farmers' Gazette of 22 June 1917, Dr Carey Evans, as a member of the Indian Medical Service, "was attached to the Arbor punitive expedition as medical officer. He was also afterward attached to the expedition sent out to define the boundaries of Mismir. It was the first European expedition to that country. After great hardships the expedition succeeded in reaching Rima, between Tibet and China". I would like to know the whereabouts of these places. @Future Perfect at Sunrise: Thanks, looks good. I read in my copy of The Universal Encyclopedia that the Abors are "Primitive Mongoloid tribes inhabiting the Abor hills in the Assam borderlands. They were subdued by a British punitive expedition, 1911-12" which would be the right sort of date for our man. The Mishmi, numbering 271 in 1911, "are remarkable for their peculiar religion and customs". I've added Rima, Tibet to our Rima (disambiguation) page. DuncanHill (talk) 12:19, 21 June 2022 (UTC)

And I've found a book called In Abor Jungles; being an account of the Abor expedition, the Mishmi mission and the Miri mission by Angus Hamilton, which mentions Lieut Evans of the IMS. The mission to the Mishmis was a friendly one "in order to make the position clear". DuncanHill (talk) 12:56, 21 June 2022 (UTC)
