Need Help IDing Two Movies

Hello, I'm looking for help IDing two films, both were released before 2008.

The first is a crime/detective film. One of the early scenes shows a police department being brought lunch at their desks, because they are working on a crime and they (or at least their bosses) don't want them to pause.

The second is about a man released from prison. The three scenes I remember is him facing a parole board early on, him standing outside a chaotic club-type environment, and finally towards the end a woman he's befriended asks him to leave town. If any of the volunteers who answer queries here, and who have already seen your first iteration, knew either of the answers, they would probably have replied. However, not everyone who volunteers here does so every single day to a set schedule, so give it a couple more days until more people have seen the question.

Your queries probably have too few details to make searching the web for answers easy, particularly regarding the first film as the detail you mention is commonplace and has likely been used many times. They're both American films. I would guess the first one's time period is 70s through early 90s. I wish I could remember more details, it's just that one particular scene that I recall with clarity.

Regarding the second movie, I think the gist of the plot was that the parolee perhaps used to be violent, but underwent a major personality change while he was in prison. In the parole board scene, most of the board seems sympathetic towards him. I think the main reason they were turning him loose early was good behavior.

I would guess late 80s to beginning of 2000s on the second movie.

Well if the lunch scene is memorable, maybe it has some memorable dialogue? Or an actor with distinctive looks? —Tamfang (talk) 05:28, 15 December 2019 (UTC)

No Sex Please, We're British

Wasn't it composed especially for the film? The composer is listed as Eric Rogers, who also did the music for the Carry On films, of which this tune is very reminiscent. --Viennese Waltz 10:04, 10 December 2019 (UTC)

[Edit Conflict] The initial tune seems to me to be an introductory arrangement, perhaps composed specifically for the film, to the main tune starting around 1:40 (where the red-uniformed Guardsmen are marching), which is The Galloping Major.
