List of Period Drama Authors/Novelists who have had their books/novels adapted into TV series, or TV films

Is there a category of "Period Drama" authors/novelists or a list of authors/novelists anywhere who have had their books adapted for TV series, or TV films?

I'm currently building a list of every historical and/or detective ITV (TV network) film or series I can find on ITV Studios, Google, Amazon, IMDB and Wikipedia among other websites, which I'll eventually be adding, updating or correcting on Quora and Wikipedia.

The reason I'm doing this is because I'm sick of people/magazines/websites giving American companies like Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, PBS, HBO, NBC, CBS etc and the British network the BBC, credit for ITV shows and films that they had nothing to do with. So the next time I see someone make the same mistakes, I can show them part or all of my list to get my point across that ITV (TV network) do almost as many "Period Dramas" as the BBC, and considerably more "Detective Dramas" than the BBC.

I'm mainly looking for films or series in the Second World War, Interwar Britain, First World War, Edwardian, Victorian and Georgian periods, as they're the periods when most "Period Dramas" seem to occur, but any historical film or series (whether it's fictional or not) set in other periods like Prehistoric, Roman, Dark Ages, Medieval, Tudor and Stuart will do too.

I have a relatively large list already, and have recently found a list of every ITV drama from 1955 to 1999 apparently, but haven't had the chance to look through it properly yet, however it does look good.

As someone who doesn't read books, and hasn't had much interest in "Period Dramas" until recently, I don't know many authors, apart from some of the obvious like Jane Austen, The Brontes, Charles Dickens, Thomas Hardy, Elizabeth Gaskell, Catherine Cookson, Daphne du Maurier, and Agatha Christie.

So I'm wondering if there's any lists anywhere on Wikipedia of authors who have had their historical books adapted for the ITV (TV network) or British TV in general like the previously named have. Danstarr69 (talk) 23:00, 28 September 2018 (UTC)
