November 15 edit

Jazzy-sounding promo edit

In early 1981, when I was a kid, KBHK-TV would advertise its scheduled movie in primetime. There was this musical promo to go with it. The musical promo sounded a bit jazzy. Toward the end of it, there was the sound of an upright piano. It sounded like as if it were played by Ramsey Lewis. Is the musical promo a mashed-up version of a song by Lewis?2604:2000:7113:9D00:B81E:C008:E611:FADF (talk) 03:06, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Is it This promo here? If so, it sounds superficially similar to a few songs. "Love Boat", (the Theme Song from the eponymous show) the music of which was written by Charles Fox seems similar, and it also evokes "Love's Theme", a similar instrumental piece by Barry White which was performed by the The Love Unlimited Orchestra. I'm not sure either man wrote that theme, but it may be an homage to one of them, or written by someone else to sound like them, or maybe I'm imagining something. Still, it's a lead... --Jayron32 20:45, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Listening again, I also hear moments from the "Theme from Star Trek", composed by Alexander Courage. --Jayron32 20:48, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
No, it's not that promo. The music doesn't sound anything like that.2604:2000:7113:9D00:B81E:C008:E611:FADF (talk) 21:15, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
2604:2000:7113:9D00:B81E:C008:E611:FADF is it the one playing @7:28 here: [1]? Maineartists (talk) 22:39, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
No, that's from the mid-1990's. The promo I'm referring to is from early 1981. The upright piano riff is played towards the end.2604:2000:7113:9D00:B81E:C008:E611:FADF (talk) 23:19, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Wow. I must say, I'm impressed. You actually remember a single piano riff on an upright piano in a television promo from early 1981? My, my, my. Good luck! Maineartists (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 23:32, 15 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
