Book identification

A few years ago, I read on a website, most likely Wikipedia, the summary of a book that opens by introducing a seemingly-utopian world. It is eventually revealed that the society has abandoned art, literature, and science. The book soon becomes dystopian.

I was sure that this book was Brave New World, but after I started reading it, I realized the first chapter does the opposite of portraying an ideal society. The more pleasant side of the World State isn't revealed until later. What is, then, this mysterious book whose name I didn't remember correctly? --99.237.96.81 (talk) 02:20, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

The Time Machine opens in present-day (i.e. Victoria-era) England, although the main part of the story is set among the Eloi and this part is something like the description given. --Anon, 02:33 UTC, November 2, 2008.

Name of this kind of music

What is the name of the type of music of those arabian music with electronic musics beats. I talking about the "dance" one not the ambient kind one. Thanks for the help. I will look for this rai type of music. I forgot to say somthing very important, one music that would fall in this type of music that i am looking for in the tunak tunak tun from daler mehndi a well know music.

Here's an alternative song I've heard hundreds of times. Yet when I try googling the lyrics, I get zero hits.

100% sure. I'm not sure how you're hearing anything about chemicals or cans of mace in this song - the vocals are pretty distinct by modern alternative music standards. Exxolon (talk) 06:01, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

To be honest, I didn't remember what the words before "between us" were. It could be anything "between us". I guess Bush's song just filled in my blank. As for the cans of mace, this may have been a mondegreen based on expecting a rhyme (I was expecting to hear something that rhymed with "face" after the line "well you shoved it in my face", and my ears filled it in for me). Da Boom of Family Guy

How did they do the Dallas scene? I saw Bobby's portrayer in the credits, but are they look a likes? Or are they the actors?!?! Because those actors look far different now. Or is it voice syncing and editing or something? SGGH ^speak! 14:20, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Make-up is a wonderful thing. DirecTV has been running adds for years that do the same thing; reshooting scenes from classic movies using the same actors but saying different lines. If you compare the scenes side-by-side with the original, you can clearly see that the actors in the remake are older, but when you don't have the original to run it next to them, it certainly looks exactly like the original version. So the effect is achieved with a combination of good make-up, and our own imperfect memory... --Jayron32.talk.contribs 14:53, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
