Water Balloons: How to tie the knot

edit

I'm making water balloons with neighborhood children. It's so hard to tie a knot in the stem of the balloon with my fingers. I read "water balloons" page: fun, helpful. Do you have any tricks/ hints for tying the knot? Thank you. Quakerlady (talk) 03:38, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pull the opening of the balloon over the water nozzle. Fill the balloon. Twist the balloon to keep the water in. Remove it from the nozzle holding both the balloon and opening to keep it from untwisting. Place the balloon against a surface (the table, your chest, the inside of your arm...) to keep it still while you let go and use both hands to tie the knot. Sling the balloon at whomever is least expecting to be hit by a water balloon. -- kainaw 04:09, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Wrap the stem around two fingers, then you can separate those fingers, making a hole that you can pass the end through. If that doesnt mak sense, try here--omnipotence407 (talk) 12:24, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I like to use the weight of the water to help stretch the neck of the balloon.. making it easier to tie as per standard balloon tying methods.87.102.86.73 (talk) 16:35, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Each of you have added a part to my success. I'm simply bursting with possibilities. Thank you. Thank you.Quakerlady (talk) 17:48, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Who's the youngest who get the Honorific sir?

edit

the title from Order of the British Empire. Breckinridge (talk) 06:52, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This claims it is Waqar Azmi. Fribbler (talk) 11:55, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, but no, it doesn't. OBE means Officer of the Order of the British Empire. It's not a knighthood. -- JackofOz (talk) 12:10, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Whoops. Yeah, that edit was a bit early for me this morning (coupled with an awful hangover). Fribbler (talk) 19:03, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I'm not sure who the youngest was, especially if you go back to medieval Britain and their knights, but I do know that Bob Geldof was 35 in 1986 when he got his, which is very young for recent times. Of course, being an Irish citizen, he shouldn't actually be using the title "Sir" but rather the suffix KBE --Worm That Turned (talk) 16:14, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The Order of the British Empire has only been around since 1917, not since medieval times. Bob Geldof never, to my knowledge, calls himself "Sir Bob", but the naughty, witless media usually do. -- JackofOz (talk) 07:24, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What is the name of this game?

edit

I've been trying to remember the name of an old arcade game I used to like playing. I can't remember many details about it, besides: It was single or two-players. The plot centered around these two brothers trying to rescue a girl. The main weapons the characters used were yo-yos. You could do a variety of attacks with them. I believe you also rode skateboards at some points in the game. Some of the levels included a train, an underground temple or something, and an airplane.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_arcade_games I've been looking through this list to try and find it, but I simply can't remember the title. I would definitely recognize the game if I saw a screenshot or two.

Also sounds kind of like Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics II, but I didn't play all the way through that game. But it do recall it having yo-yos. Useight (talk) 23:09, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes! It's "Spinmaster"!! Thank you so much. That was driving me crazy. The Mighty KELP (talk) 00:54, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Any time! Zagalejo^^^ 05:51, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
