Remarks upon Signing the Civil Rights Bill (July 2, 1964) Lyndon Baines Johnson. edit

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was a monumental achievement for Lyndon B. Johnson and all minorities who it protects. This file significantly adds to the following articles:

  • Although the audio version is already a FS, there is no reason why this could not be also, since many readers will probably prefer to see the video. Nominate and support. TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 01:46, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Original Over half of the video, a full fifteen minutes at least, consists entirely of the president handing out pens. I see this video as being significantly less valuable than the audio portion. Also the first minute or so on the right side you can see damage to the recording. That, however, is a much lesser concern than the whole pens thing. Sven Manguard Wha? 21:12, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
      • Support Edit - I'd have cut it two seconds earlier and gotten rid of all the clapping or two seconds later to allow for more of it, but that's personal preference. This is better. I'm still really not sold on the virtues of doing this by video, but as long as the audio quality is the same with or without the visuals, I guess I don't mind one way or the other. • Sven, I have clipped 1.2 seconds off of the prior version. I took .2 off of the beginning (starting at 10.2 of the original and now going to 9:59 of the original instead of 10:00).--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 15:47, 16 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose I think we could clean the audio a bit more. Contact me. Adam Cuerden (talk) 18:49, 14 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not Promoted. The issues raised are primarily in regard to the audio quality, cleaning up audio quality on a video is hard as Adam said in another nomination, the video is good, but that doesn't amount to much if the audio quality isn't the best it can be. —James (TalkContribs)11:00am 01:00, 19 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
